Ryann's POV
I woke up the next morning and was overwhelmed with excitment. I wasn't quite sure if I was more excited about getting a call from Toby or going to Starbucks with Riley and possibly the rest of the band.
I started getting ready. I wore my grey shirt and a pair of shorts. I didn't want to look too fancy, but I also didn't want to look like I didn't care. Emilie got dressed as well, and we got my brother to drive us to Starbucks.
We finally arrived at our destination after a grueling 20 minutes of driving. It was pretty weird that I was so nervous to be getting coffee with my favorite band. In all honesty, the only thing that I was most worried about was getting Toby's call. I had waited all day and barely slept at all last night just waiting for him to call me. It sounds pretty desperate, considering we were just friends -aquantinces- and we weren't serious, but I wanted to hear his voice just once more.
We exited my brother's car and headed inside. I could feel my heart pounding, and I could tell by the look on her face that Emilie was just as nervous as I was. She was a total Connor girl, so she hoped that he would be there. I still wasn't quite sure why Riley wanted to meet with me, but I didn't argue it.
We then saw the boys.
Riley, Connor, and Toby.
Toby was here.
Toby's POV
My brothers and I piled into our tour bus and headed on our way to Starbucks. There was so much going on in my head right now. All I could think of was seeing Ryann again, and why Riley called her and tried to hide it from me. It was clear to me that Riley liked Ryann.
I could see Riley fixing his hair in the side mirror of the bus. It irritated me to think that Riley would flirt with Ryann right in front of me. What happened to putting family first? What Riley was doing was really low, and I would never do something like that to him.
We got a table and thankfully we got there before Ryann and her friend Emilie. Connor was fixing his hair, too. I could tell he really liked Emilie, and if he wanted to he could probably date her. There would be no complications there. No other brother to take her away from him. If that was what Riley was planning to do to me, I couldn't let it happen. Not with Ryann. She was different.
Then, I saw them. I saw her.
They entered the coffee shop and looked around briefly. They soon spotted our table. They walked over to us, and sat down. Emilie sat next to Connor, and Ryann sat right inbetween me and Riley. Great.
Riley started in with his charm. He said things like "Wow, you look really pretty." and "You could be a model". I was always jealous of the way Riley could express his feelings. I could never seem to find the right words to say when I was talking to someone that I really cared about.
"Ryann, I really like your... shirt." I awkwardly said.
"Thank you!" she replied. She looked down at her shirt and laughed. "Toby, i'm just wearing a plain grey shirt."
"Oh..." I started "I know, but you look really nice in it." I finally said.
This was not going to well.
For me, anyways.
Ryann's POV
I looked around the shop and saw the guys. We walked over to their table and looked for seats. Emilie took the seat next to Connor, which was obvious because she loooves Connor. The only seat left was right inbetween Riley and Toby. Toby.
All I wanted to do was talk to Toby, but I had to be polite and talk to Riley, who was kind of on his own considering Emilie and Connor were in their own little world, and I mostly wanted to talk to Toby.
Riley asked me simple questions. He also gave me a lot of compliments, that were very nice, but also gave me a sense that Riley liked talking to me. Toby, on the other hand barely said anything to me, which was very dissapointing. He finally broke out with "Ryann, I really like your...shirt" I responded with a "Thank you" and soon realized that I was just wearing a plain grey shirt. He replied with "Oh... well it looks good on you." Even though he had an awkward tone, I loved his compliment so much.
Riley then snapped at Toby. "Toby, why don't you go wait in the bus or something." I was really confused at why he would want his brother to leave, but I simply asked Toby to not leave. "Please don't go." I begged. "I really only came here to see you." I whispered so that only Toby could hear. He sighed. "Look Ryann, I really like you but so does Riley. Riley always gets what he wants, and I don't think that fighting with him is such a good idea." he said. He left with a sadness that lingered over me. I wanted Toby. As much as I thought Riley was nice, I didn't feel the same way about him. I walke dback to the table. "Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out again sometime. This was really fun." Riley said. I didn't want to dissapoint him, I mean, he was still a member of my favorite band. "Sure, Riley. I'd love to." I said. I put my number into his phone and Emilie and I gathered our things and left the Starbucks.
I desperatley wanted to be around Toby again. I quickly texted him, asking if he would like to hang out later. He replied with "I don't think so."
I was furious. Why did he lead me on? I sent him "Why not?" to which he replied "Look, Riley really likes you. I know he would be a great boyfriend. I would much rather you be with him. I know you would, too." I was in shock. So I simply replied with "Okay, then I will." Instead of waiting for a reply, I turned my phone off, not wanting to hear anymore from Toby.
