So Close - Ryann and Toby

Chapter 5

Ryann's POV

I got my brother, Robert to drive me to the place where me and Riley were meeting. I was sort of nervous, but at the same time all I could think of was what we were going to talk about. What was there to talk about? I was planning on using this "date" or whatever it might be to see if i felt comfortable with Riley. As much as I desperatley wanted to be with Toby, he didn't want me back, and I had to accept that and move on.

We pulled up to the mall where me and Riley were meeting at. Riley wanted to meet at a mall because it was less public, and not many people would  notice him. I thought that wasn't true because surely someone would notice him but I tried not to argue. 

I waited for him in the food court because he wanted to get something to eat, and then we would walk around. After about five minutes of waiting, he appeared. He was wearing a black t-shirt and grey jeans. Even though I was a Toby girl at heart, I couldn't help but love those jeans on him. 

"Hey!" Riley said when he saw me. 

" Hey! Do you want to get something to eat?" I asked. I was starving, but he didn't need to know that.

"Sure. What do you want?" He asked. Eventually we decided to get Paradise Bakery because it was my all time favorite. 

We sat down at a food court table and started to eat. For a while there was an awkward silence. I couldn't help but wonder if I was with Toby, would it be like this. So I asked him how Toby - and Connor- were. He replied with a simple "Good." which gave me the impression that he didn't want to talk about his brothers. 

About twenty minutes into our awkward "date" I notices a small group of girls in a far corner. There was about five to six girls all staring at me and Riley. All of them had their phones out and were taking pictures. I had never had people that I didn't know take pictures of me, so this was crazy for me. I pointed it out to Riley, and he said "Yeah, they're probably fans.". Then I replid with "Aren't you worried about all fo your fans seeing the pictures of you and some girl?" But he answered "Not if I like the girl.". I'm pretty sure if this was any other Before You Exit fan, she would have a heart attack. But for some reason, all I could think about was Toby. I didn't know what to say to Riley, other that the truth. "Riley, can I be honest with you?" I asked.

"Of course you can. What's up?" he questioned.

Oh great. Now I had to tell him that I had feelings for his brother.

"I...I really like Toby. I know that he doesn't like me back, but i'm sorry. I just don't think this would work out. You and me? You know?" I kept rambling on, trying to get an answer out of him. Instead, he said nothing. Nothing.

"Riley, say something." i asked

"Please." I kept pleading.

"Look, I think that maybe you should stay away from me and my brothers for a while." his tone turning mean.

"Riley, I don't want to hurt you. I still want to be your friend." I said a little to loudly.

"No, I think it's for the best if you just leave us alone." He said as he stormed off out of the mall. I tried to chase after him, but he was to fast. Great. I had this great opportunity, and I blew it. Why would I do something so stupid?

Toby's POV

Finally, I got a call from Riley. I had been waiting for a little over an hour. Was his :date" with Ryann already over?

"What." he said in a harsh tone.

"Hey, where are you?" I questioned

"I'm coming back to the bus." He said, sternly.

"With Ryann?" I asked.

"No. Not with Ryann. But you should know that, right Toby? Since you like her so much, go ahead - she's all yours." he said befor ehe hung up on me. What was he talking about? Soon after my call woith Riley, I got  a call from Ryann.

"Hello?" i answered.

"Toby! Is Riley back to your bus yet?" she asked.

"no. but I did just talk to him. What did you do? You made him pretty upset?" i said

"I didn't mean to! I just told him how i really felt." she replied.

"And how do you feel?" i asked.

"Toby. I really like you." she finally said.

After her words, I started to get another call, from Connor. 

"Hold that thought. It's Connor." i told her.

"Hello? Connor?" i answered.

"Toby! Thank god you answered!" he yelled.

"Connor, what is it?" i asked

"It's Riley." He said "Something has happened to Riley"
