Hot torrents of grief coursed down my face, my sobs lost with the crying of the other people in the room. I shivered in disbelief, my eyes leaking with sadness and depression. He was alive, we knew that, but seeing him like this just tour at our hearts.

His dark hair, one swept down in curls, was now a shaggy mess at the top of his bloodied head. His face which was usually a happy and charming look, was now a mask of cuts and scars with dry flecks of blood blotched around his cheeks. He looked so innocent, so helpless...

Why did this happen? Why not me? What did he ever do wrong to deserve this?

I cradled my head in the cup of my hands, letting out anguished sobs.

Louis' warm hands gently snaked around me and pulled me up; I was in no mood to snap at him, I was in too much of a misery. I couldn't care for anything right now, besides Harry.

I gulped and looked up.

Liam and Zayn; Niall and Emily; They were all there, standing, watching him, crying silently to themselves. Only one person was missing; Alex.

I hadn't seen her since that unfaithful night.

Emily approached me, wiping the tears on the sleeves of her top. She saw me and forced a smile, though her eyes were still filled with foggy teardrops that traced down onto her cheeks.

I watched her, letting out several anguished sobs as Louis just stood beside me, crying too, not knowing whether to hug me or not.

"It's okay," Emily said, lifting her hand and gently patting me on the shoulder. "He's good, isn't he? He's still alive, still here." She said, as if she was trying to reassure herself more than me.

I wiped my eyes with my fingers and sniffled.

"I guess so," I choked. Emily nodded and then turned around to face Harry again.

A small choking sound came from Louis as he cleared his throat. He threw a quick glance at me and then silently strolled towards Harry's side, kneeling down so that he was just above level with the bed.

Just at that moment, a short, blond man with round specs and a large white coat came in through another door at the side of the room. He looked around at all of us and sighed.

"I'm really sorry, and I don't want to do this..." He spoke calmly. We all turned and looked at him in horror.

"...but I'm afraid we cannot have you all in here at the same time..." He said gently. There were sighs of relief in the room. I thought he was going to say something about Harry...

"We can't have more than two visitors in the room at once. I apologize, I really do, but some of you will have to leave the room, just temporarily..." The blond doctor said.

We nodded.

"I think Leah should stay in here, she's only been here for a few minutes." Niall said suggestively. I took a long, hard look at Niall's bloodshot eyes and then, swallowing a lump in my throat, I nodded.

Emily inched towards Niall and gripped his hand tightly as they both reluctantly headed for the door. I looked for Zayn or Liam hopelessly, but they were already out of the door. I gulped and turned back to Louis, who was just sitting there, looking up at me.

"If you need me, I'll be in the room next door," The doctor said calmly, before taking a look at Harry and leaving the room.

I sighed and looked around, awkwardly. Tears were still trickling down my soft cheeks, but I'd managed to stop the main flow; It could've been worse; Harry could've been dead.
