kyle watched over isaac the whole afternoon, feeding him his meals while formulating the plan inside his head. cora swore she could handle herself, but kyle couldn't swallow the bitter taste of tragedy on his tongue. he had tasted that before and knew it meant trouble.

isaac groaned from his bed and shifted positions. he was now facing kyle.

"i can feel you staring." he muttered dryly.

"sorry."

"it's fine. boys back home do it all the time."

when kyle didn't respond to that, isaac's eyes shot open and scrambled up.

"i didn't mean - the boys back home are my friends - they. ugh." he groaned and rubbed his temples.

"you sound so eager to explain." kyle teased. "i guess the energy you built up by sleeping is catching up on you, making you stumble on your words."

"yeah...yeah, i guess so." he yawned. "besides, what time is it anyway?"

"close to midnight. she said we'll have to wait here until after midnight though."

"she?"

"oh. yeah, i forgot to tell you about her." kyle mentally knocked himself in the head. "but-"

loud music started pumping through the walls of their room.

"i guess you'll have to wait till that thing dies down." kyle practically screamed above all the thundering sounds of synthetics and isaac nodded in agreement.

when cora got back inside her room, she gave up at the thought of removing the skin tight dress, decided that it would just whisk her precious time away.

she swapped her high heel stilettos with a pair of black converse.

she was quite satisfied with her look.

"where are you going- more importantly, converse, really?" cora ignored andrew's questions and headed east of the party room.

the power source of the building was located there, based on what the workers had told her, and she only ever visited it once.

andrew's footsteps drowned as she walked further.

once she got there, the feeling of adrenaline ran inside her body, filling her up with so much energy.

her werewolf form emerged with a howl and was disappointed that the dress only bore a couple of rips along her ribs.

she rushed to the main lever, but decided that eliminating the generators first would be best so she did. using her claws, the generators now looked like scraps of metal.

as soon as the power shut down, shrieks of panic echoed through the hallways and it was a sign for her to move and find the keys.

the lights turned off when kyle was about to win a full house.

"that's not fair. i was going to w-"

then the sounds of panicked screams filtered to his ears.

in the dark, he could see that isaac's eyes had turned golden, just like cora's, and knew it was time.

"no- not yet, isaac. we have to wait for her." kyle called out as isaac approached the door.
