53: all the happy people

I looked at the almost empty streets of LA. I sighed and stopped a taxi.

Laura- "can you just go to any hospital please?"

He nodded and started driving

I laid my head on the chair and started shaking, you see. I'm really scared to go out at this time, especially with a taxi.

I rubbed my arms with my hands and closed my eyes.

After what seemed like seconds the taxi driver spoke

Taxi driver- "that will be five bucks please"

I nodded and got five bucks out of my purse and gave it to him

I I smiled at him and got out, taking my stuff with me

I entered and went to the lady at the desk

Laura- "I would like to get a-a" a tear rolled down my cheek "an abortion"

She nodded and told me to wait in the waiting room. I sat down and thought should I? Should I get this abortion? Ross wouldn't want that...since he said he wants another kid...but I'm leaving..

Yes. I did know that I was pregnant. This whole time. I heard that rip too. I don't know if Ross heard it, but while we were having sex I heard a rip, I never thought it would be the condom tho.

i woke up. my arms felt empty. i opened my eyes, no laura. i got out of bed, the floor was a mess. my clothes laying everywhere, but no sign of laura's. i frowned and entered ruby's room, she was sleeping. again. no laura. I went downstairs, particularly searching he whole house. not even a clue.

I sighed and collapsed on the couch. She must have wanted.....some fresh air. Yeah. That's probably it. She's probably walking on the Shore of the beach , yeah. I'll even call her right now.

The phone rung

Laura

I'm in New York...I got a job, and a apartment. Yeah. I know. Really fast. And I just came back, from my first day. And I'm sitting on the couch.

Suddenly my phone started ringing. I frowned and looked at the caller ID

My eyes widened. I put my phone on silent. He closed. But kept on calling, I quickly thought it out and picked up.

Laura-I Cleared my throat "h-hello?"

Ross- "Laura. Hey, where are you?"

My eyes widened

Laura- "I-in..um in the beach."

Ross- "oh. Should I come?"

Laura- "no no no. I'll be there"

Ross- "oh ok."

Laura- "umm..hey Ross,, how's r-Ruby"

Tears escaped my eyes

Ross- "she's sleeping, but she's fine. Why?"

Laur- "u-Umm I-i don't know. B-bye!"

Ross- "bye"

Ross

It's been a week. No sign of Laura. I dropped Ruby over to my moms house, cause I had a feeling Laura wasn't coming back. I cried myself to sleep for the past week.

I sighed. I have to pick Ruby up
Today, my parents are going on vacation. I told Ruby that laura is coming back 'tomorrow'. Well that was a week ago, when she comes back home, she'll be heartbroken.

I sighed and got in my car. And headed to pick Ruby up...

I reached and opened the door. What? It's my house.

When Ruby saw me, she ran as fast as she could, I kneeled down and hugged her.

Ruby- giggled "DADDY!!"

Ross- "hey baby" I kissed her cheek

Ruby entered, fast. Excited that she was gonna see Laura.

Ruby- "MOMMY"

I sighed, and carried her to the couch, putting her on my lap facing me

Ross- "Ruby..." I sighed "l-Laura...won't be coming back..."

Ruby- "w-what?" Tears escaped her eyes

~1 year later~

(AN: ok I know I said that Ruby was 6, but let's pretend I never said that and she turned 6)

I sighed and put the coffee on the table. I rubbed my temple.

Ruby- "DADDY DADDY!" She came running down the stairs 

She sat on my lap, facing me.

Ruby- "LETS GO TO THE PARK!"

Ross- weakly smiled "sure..."

I stood up, and took her to her room, changing her.

Laura

So, I'm on a vacation in LA. I really hope I don't see Ross, I came with my boyfriend. Yes I got a new boyfriend. His name is Harry. He's the best, and he insisted to go on vacation in LA. ugh.

And well right now, we're taking a walk in the park. Well, actually kissing in the park, and I'm laughing into the kiss. What? He's literally tickling the fuck out of me.

Ross

I walked through the park, holding ruby's hand. I looked all around, all the kids paying, having a great time. Couple feeding each other, making out. And all the happy people.

This is the park I told Ruby I'm her dad, in.

Suddenly, Ruby stopped in her tracks. And stared at something. I frowned.

Ross- "ruby, come on"

She didn't say anything, she just stared.

Ross- sighed "I'm going" I waved, walking away.

She didn't budge

I walked back to her, and rolled my eyes.

Ross- "ugh ruby, come on!!"

I looked at the direction she was looking at.

And there. My heart broke into a million pieces. Shattered. Nothing can fix it. It's done. Over with.

My blood was boiling, to the rate 100,000,000.

How dare she? Why would she do this to me?

Laura was standing there. Laughing with a guy, while kissing him.

I sighed and looked at Ruby.

Ross- "let's just go home" I picked her up. Cause I knew she wasn't gonna budge.
