The school day was finally over, not that it took long since the two were out for a good part of their classes. Huey, being the thoughtful one, got all of the assignments they missed, and homework they might have had. Not that Jazmine would do either of these without a fight.
"I'm not going to be there taking the final exam for you, Jazmine." He sighed, looking to her on his bed, playing with her curly orange hair, and copying the work he'd already done. "And what do you think your teachers will think, you having all these good grades, and then a shit score on your finals. That won't look good on my part, or yours, Jazmine." He eyed her, then turned his eyes back to the brightness of the computer screen.
"That's alright. Because when my best friend is a rich billionaire, I'll just live off of him." She replied sweetly.
  He only grunted in return.
"I'm dooone." She crooned, flipping over on his bed, grabbing the tv remote. "Let's watch.... Cake wars." She stared at the screen mindlessly as it slowly turned on.
Huey didn't say anything, because out of all the shows she watched, this one was the most bearable, honestly.
"We're watching a documentary  at 4:00, so don't get too attached." Huey said, typing a report on his computer. It was on 'The Struggles of a Black Man in a White Capitalistic Society,"
Jazmine watched the show, looking as all of the delicious treats were put together. It made her stomach growl.
Huey heard this, and without having to be asked, pointed to a small fridge sitting in the nook of a wooden shelf.
Jazmine stared at it. "Huey, can you get it for me?"
"Jazmine, I got the damn thing in the first place so that you wouldn't make me walk all the way down there to get you food. You're right next to it, and it'd be a waste of money for you not to use it." He said, not even stopping for a moment to look at her as he typed quickly.
"Fine." She huffed, sitting up, and crawling on his bed until she was close enough to reach the fridge next to the bed, on said shelf.
"Don't drink the apple soda." That was his favorite. He didn't share it with anyone.
Of course, instead of listening to him, she grabbed the cold apple soda, and a bowl of whipped cream. Huey kept a Spoon in a bag taped to the bowl, since he knew her that well.
Jazmine closed the fridge door, hiding under the covers, trying to warm her arms. Sitting up, she popped the tab of the soda, and took a sip. Huey automatically looked to her, frowning intensely. "I told you not to."
Jazmine stared at him while she slowly sipped the soda.
Getting up, he snatched the soda away, without spilling a drop, and turned back to his computer, drink in hand. "You're not allowed in the fridge anymore." He said, saving the essay, and rolling back to her in his chair.
   "Huey.." She whined, sniffling.
"Don't Huey me." He said, his voice light as he took another sip, licking his lips. "If you want some, why don't you get it?" He asked, tauntingly.
So she then got up, putting her whipped cream on the other side of her as she walked to him. Swiftly, he pulled her into his lap, pressing his cold hands to her neck.
"Huey!" She giggled, slapping his leg.
Jazmine heard the soft musical note of his laughter, as he pressed the soda to her hand. His laugh was rare, and beautiful? She couldn't quite put it into words.
And of course, she would drink after him. It was her best friend! So there they sat, watching tv, until his documentary came on. Naturally, Jazmine whined the whole way through the two hour explo.
