"Yes, but Darwin's theory of evolution is stupid. How can it be the more believable theory? Evolution is what Lamarck put forward about things eventually changing. Natural selection is trash."
"Trash!?"
"That's right, Neil, natural selection is trash."
Natasha laughed. She agreed with me, whereas Neil always had to choose the wrong side of an argument. It started with JFK's head shot, whether or not it came from the front or back, and now we were arguing about the theory of evolution.
Most of the time we got strange looks from everyone once we started arguing because we really never stopped.
"Listen bitch, everyone is all about natural selection and Darwin and shit, but Lamarck is the one who talked about evolution. Evolution is why we walk on two legs not because some weird ass monkey decided to walk on two legs and bam everyone else died, natural selection. Most of them started to walk on two legs and it eventually evolved into all of us doing it. We have opposable thumbs. That is evolution, not-"
"Hot new guy alert." Natasha murmured into my ear, staring behind me. I was about to turn around when I felt a body right behind me.
Even with all our clothes on, I knew it was him. I knew every part of his body, just how he knew mine. The only thing that puzzled me was how he was here. Why was he here?
"Look, I love you and I'm never going to forget this. These past two weeks have been the best two weeks of my life."
What the fuck? How did he get here? He could not just show up and take over my life again. I had to concentrate here and if he was with me, I wouldn't get any work done. I felt his breath ruffle my hair and I shuddered indiscreetly.
"Hi, I'm Natasha, nice to meet you. Did you need something?" Natasha said politely while smiling. I glared at her but she shrugged. She seemed perturbed by his proximity to me, and even more so that I, the girl who kills anyone who touches her, did nothing.
"I was told to find Katya. We have a few classes together and I was told that she could show me the way."
"I'm sure she can, right Katya?" Natasha answered for me. I swallowed hard. I could feel every breath he took and it was driving me crazy. "She'll catch up with you later, um..."
"Jeremy," He answered. As if I didn't know that already. "I'm looking forward to it."
Natasha grabbed my arm and pulled me within whispering distance as Jeremy loped off.
"Katya, what the hell was that? Why didn't you say anything and why was he so close to you? Do you know him?" Natasha was spot on.
"Um...." That was all I could say.
"Better figure out your answer, because the hottest guy I have ever seen basically groped you and you just stood there. Tell me at lunch, I'll be waiting." She pointed her finger at me knowingly and walked away, leaving me in the quadrangle by myself with dwindling numbers of fellow students; oblivious to my racing heart and my dizzy head.
"Katya, you don't have to do this, you know. If you feel uncomfortable, just tell me."
I brought my hand to his lips, hushing him. I wasn't going to be the one to break up this party. I grinned and moved my hands onto his bare shoulders. His eyes never left mine as I pushed him so that he was lying down on the bed.
