<< Flashback, June 25, Last year >>
I laid on my bed thinking. I always thought I was stronger then that. What happened to my strong and sarcastic side? I'll tell you what. I'm a sixteen years old girl who's father left her and what she does? She just stays in her bed, doesn't move, doesn't eat. I mean his not dead but it feel like it. He just left, he packed his bags and left. Not just mom, me too. For another family. For another women and two kids, a girl somewhere my age and a older boy I think or was it the other way around. Wasn't I good enough.
I started crying again. I cried until I fell asleep.
I blinked twice when I opened my eyes, took a deep breath and got up. I wanted- no I needed to get out of he house. I needed to let go just for a moment and forget that crappy feeling I had all the time. I put on skinny jeans, a top and took my jacket. I looked the clock. 7 pm. Well it's not so late.
"Are you going somewhere?" My mom asked when I got down stairs.
"Yeah, I kind of just wanted to get out of the house. But if you don't want me to go then I don't have to." I told her and closed the front door, she stopped me before I could close it.
"No, it's good thing that you get out of the house. You haven't been out in days." She smiled to cover her sadness of the reason why I have stayed in the house.
"Thanks mom. Do you mind if I stay at Sarah's tonight, I really need someone to talk to out side of all of this." I did a little circle with my hand, meaning to point at the house and us.
"Of course. Have fun." She nodded and blinked, blocking the tears to roll down. I gave her a quick nod and stepped outside.
I started walking to Sarah's place. I didn't call her yet, I just hope she's not busy or something. Taking my phone out of my pocket I heard someone shout.
"Hey!" I turned and saw a girl from my school, I think her name is Piper Amelia. Weird name. She got up with me. "You're Katherine, right?" She asked.
"Yap, the one and only. And you are Piper Amelia, right?" We have had lunch together once if I remember correctly but I'm not sure. We aren't really friends, but we have talked few times in classes.
"Yes!" She cheered. "But call me Piper, most people do. I've always wanted to hang out with you! You seem like cool person to hang out with." She smiled wildly. She was probably drunk. She acted too happy about seeing me.
"I'm flattered?" I smiled weekly, not really sure what to say or do.
"Like I said you seem cool. Sarcastic and strong and pretty, well more like beautiful, and sweet and nice and kind and..." I kind of got lost between all the compliments that kept coming from her mouth and the time she started stroking my hair.
I looked her in shock. "Piper? Are you okay?" I asked.
She shook her head once and smiled. "Of course! Why shouldn't I be?"
"On a scale one to ten, how drunk are you?" I don't even know why I asked that, I have never had to deal with a drunk person so if she would answered I have no clue what to do with that knowledge.
She just laughed. "Don't know. I drunk beer and something stronger and did some drugs the guys gave me." The guys? You should never trust the guys, I know that much.
"You shouldn't go home alone. I'm coming with you, okay?" I think helping Piper would be better then talk about my problems with Sarah. It would get my mind off of things and I can make a new friend. Don't have lot of those.
