Chapter 4 (Uriah)

I'm very confused right now. Tris and Four just came back in. They left when I asked them what happened. Actually Four pushed Tris in her wheelchair outside after she said that what happened to me was his fault. Tris sits next to me and Four is grabbing a chair to sit too. "So?" I ask, "What happened to me?" I aspect that Four will talk and it looks like he wants to, but then Tris interrupts him. "There was a bomb", she starts. I can see pain in her eyes. I just don't understand why it's there. She starts to explain everything that happened . While she talks I can see the tears well up in her eyes. She starts to cry a little while after a while but she keeps going. I can hear the pain in her voice and I finally understand why this hurts her so much. I remember seeing her smiling at me, the bomb going off and I imagine the immense fear in her eyes. I start to understand what happened to me. Then she just keeps apologizing about what happened. Telling me how she should have come to help me but there is one thing I still don't understand. She said that it was his fault so what did he do. I don't want to upset her anymore right now but I need to know what happened. I ask him because I feel so much pity for her right now. "Why did she said it was your fault?" I just need to know. He starts talking, mumbling actually. "Well, uhm ... I uhm". He doesn't even know what to say but then Tris interrupts him. "He helped the guys by disabling the guards, he didn't know they were about to blow things up. They lied to him. He didn't know Uriah". Now I'm getting angry. He f*cking helped the guys that blew me up and she's defending him. How can she do that and if it isn't his fault, why did she said it is "So why did you said it was his fault!" I ask. "Because I was angry with him", she answers, not good enough. "I was angry with him and said something stupid, that's all. Really". I am starting to panic, why won't she just say why she said that. She isn't the one who has been in a coma for I don't know how long "Why where you so angry with him that you said that?" She's just silent now, ignoring what I just asked her. Is she just arrogant or is she trying to piss me of. She is blushing and it's the first time that it even came to my mind that this might be a little personal for her. I don't care. I need to know. She finally opens her mound but I don't like her answer. "I would rather not answer that question". Oh God, she's such an ass. I just want to know what happened, is that too much to ask? "Could you please bring me back to my room Tobias?" she asks with a smaller voice than I thought was possible. He is pushing her towards the door when I realize that she's only wearing a hospital gown as clothing just like me. She screamed out of pain a few times already and she's in a wheelchair. "what happened to you?" I ask because I'm sure that this didn't happened because of the explosion I was in. "I got hurt" she answers. She looks at the floor. That makes me curios. "Why don't you want to tell me?" Four starts to push her farther and I try to stand up. I scream from the pain that shoots trough my side. That gets her attention. She stands up out of her wheelchair to get to me, there is panic in her eyes, and then she falls down with a scream even worse than mine. I see her grabbing her leg. Four stands right next to her. Telling her it will be all right. "We need to get you back to bed", he says. "No!", she screams, "I can't leave him again, not while he's in pain. Just get a doctor, I'll be all right. Four stands up as fast as he can and rushes out the door to get someone to help her. I feel like an idiot. She doesn't want to leave me while I'm in pain. Even after I was this mean to her she still doesn't want to see me in pain. She stands up again and tries to walk over to me. She keeps her lips together and her screams inside her mouth but you can just read the pain of her face. "Why are you doing this?" I ask, I sound mad but that's exactly how I feel so I don't care. "I don't want you to hurt yourself because of me, Stop!" She just doesn't listen. When she finally reaches the bed after she locked the door is she looking at me, waiting for me to do something. I don't know what. See gets that I don't understands what she wants and asks "Can you move over please". You can just hear the pain in her voice. Standing up must hurt a lot. I do what she asks and move a little to the side so she can go sit next to me. Then she starts talking. "You wanted to know what happened to me?" "Yeah", I answer because I don't know what else to say. "So let's start with the beginning. You now that the Bureau is upset with healed genes right? Well they were also upset with keeping the city running." She wants to keep talking but I interrupt her. "How do you mean?" "Our city was there experiment, now wait, one of their experiments remember?" I do remember something like that so I nod. Then I realize something. "Why are you talking in the past time?" "Well, that's how I got hurt actually. We wanted to stop them from resetting the city so" I interrupt her again but it doesn't seem like she cares. "What do you mean with resetting the city?" "You've hit your head really hard haven't you", she ask jokingly, "Resetting means erasing the people their memory's. So where was I? Oh yeah, we wanted to stop them from resetting the city but we also wanted them to forget about that genetically damaged bullsh*t. To do that we had to reset them. We needed someone to break in the weapon lab and reset everyone. There was only one big problem left, the death serum. They had it as a defense mechanism and we needed someone to volunteer to go in there because there was no way anyone would get out there alive. My brother, Caleb volunteered because he wanted me to forgive him." "Oh Tris, I'm so sorry for you". I don't know what to say for a second but she starts talking again. There are tears in her eyes but she keeps talking. "Just listen, I'm not done yet. We made a plan to get some people inside the city again so they could help there, it worked. At the same time Cara had to go into the control room and knock the guards down by putting something in there drinks. I brought Caleb to the weapon lab. That's when we noticed something went wrong in the plan. The lights didn't went off. That meant that Cara failed her part. We started running and then there were guards screaming at us, telling us that we had to stop. We did. We stood there for a moment and then I realized". She stops talking when she hears Four knocking on the door. He looks kind of angry at us. I remember that she locked the door and is sitting next to me. "Four, I'm explaining him what happened, can you leave us alone for a second!" I expected she would just leave me and go have some fun with Four but she didn't. This must be important for her too. Then she looks at me and starts talking to me again. She sounds like she's about to cry. "I promised him", she whispers, "I said I would never bring him to his own funeral. He's my brother and I love him. I stopped seeing him as the guy that betrayed me for the Erudite and started seeing him as my brother. The guy that held my hand in the hospital when my mom broke her arm. The guy that told me the day before the choosing ceremony that I could leave, that I had to choose for myself, not for our family. I couldn't lose him. I couldn't let him die. I told him to give me the bag with the explosives and pointed my gun at him. I told the guards that he was my hostage. I backed up slowly and then started running. I started shooting guards that tried to stop me, blew up the door. I didn't have any time to put the suite on that was in the bag to protect me long enough to release the memory serum and ran into the death serum. It almost killed me but I survived. Than David walked in. You remember him? The boss of the bureau. He shot me. I released the serum and that's all I remember. The next thing I now is that I woke up in a hospital bed. Are you okay?" she asks. I am looking at her in a way that she clearly doesn't understand. I just can't believe she survived the death serum. I'm still a little confused but I am very thankful that she helped me like this. There are still some tears in her eyes. "I'm tired", she says, "can I sleep here for a second?" I nod. She lays her head on my chest and falls asleep. I fall asleep right after her a few seconds later.

When I wake up she is still asleep. Tobias is sitting next to the bed looking at us. He looks angry. Then I notice he isn't the only one looking at us. Cristina, Caleb, Cara, my mom and Zeke are also here. Tris starts to wake up. At first she looks confused, then there lay pools of deep sadness in her eyes. She blinks and they are gone. She starts to try to sit up and screams from the pain. "Are you okay?" Four asks. There lays some panic in his eyes. "Can you help me up?", she asks. "Why are you in the bed?", is all he says. The panic is gone. "I was tired and it would have been stupid to try and walk to the door. Can you help me up please?" He picks her up carefully but doesn't put her down. He just holds her and sits back on his chair. It doesn't looks like she cares. She just lays her head against his chest and falls back asleep. It looks like this confuses him but then he looks at me. He looks very mad. "Why was my girlfriend in your bed?" he whispers. He doesn't wants to wake her up. "She was tired" I say to everyone. "Why was the door locked" Caleb asks. When I look at him I remember the tears in her eyes when she was talking about him. It takes me a while to notice that I look pretty sad right now. "She wanted to talk to me in private". "Why did you look so sad a moment ago?" Christena asks. "I thought about something she told me", I answer with a sad smile on my face. "What did she wanted to talk to you about?" "She told me how she got hurt", I say while looking at Four. He looks at me and I see that he understands. I can see that Cara wants to say something but then Tris starts screaming. She is completely shaking, her face is wet from the tears, and her eyes are closed. "Nightmare!" Four screams. He is trying to wake her up but it doesn't works. I have never seen anyone scream like that in my life. I look around for a second. Everyone is completely choked. Caleb looks frozen. The look in his eyes is just creepy as f*ck. He isn't looking at anything actually. He just looks in front of him. He must have heard her scream like this before. Then I look back at Four who also looks like he's on another planet. He is shaking. He is still holding Tris in his arms. She just keeps screaming, shaking, crying. It's horrible to see her like this. She just won't wake up. Then Peter walks in it gets weird.
