*** hey, if you didn't read the description/induction thingie, I suggest you do that because I don't feel like describing my characters again. ***
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Our small family of three shouted, (normally we were a family of four, but my dad fell asleep on the couch some time around 11:15) and we toasted with our root beer bottles.
"Zoey! It's 2036!" My sister Olivia said, turning away from the TV to me.
"That's right!" I replied. "What time is it Olivia?"
She looked at the clock on our clear screen tv and said, "12:03"
"So," I stroked my chin, thinking. "3 minutes ago it was 2035!"
Olivia thought for a minute, then turned back to me. "2036 doesn't feel different."
"Not yet!" I winked at her.

Olivia was having surgery in two days. It has nothing to do with her autism. She has to get her appendix out! New Years was a good day for her. Not too much pain.
But the day after, it ruptured.
So she ended up going to the hospital one day early. Bear with me because I don't know much about appendicitis. I don't want to know what's happening to her, just in case it's really bad. But what I understand is that her appendix ruptured and all it's crappy juice went everywhere inside her, so they have to clean it out? All I knew was that she would be in the hospital for a while. I spent most of my time there for the next few days.
And I may not have known what was going on, but I did know that there was a famous person walking down our hallway every day.
Really, he had females following him every time he passed.
The third day at the hospital he made eye contact with me and slowed down. I guess it was strange to see a girl and not have her follow him...
Then the fourth day he made eye contact with me again. He smiled this time. And I got butterflies.
No. I'm not that kind of person! There's no way I have a chance with a famous person. Whoever he was! Look at me! I'm not as pretty as him.
The fifth day. I heard his mob coming and looked away... But the door opened this time.. He waved to all his fangirls and they went away on command surprisingly.
He smiled at me again... Seeing him close up was weird. He had this sort of glow to his smile.
"Hello!" He said in a cheesy voice... A BRITISH cheesy voice. Didn't expect that!!
"Hi," I mumbled in my lame Utah accent.
"I'm Tom Daley." He said "Can I sit down next to you?"
"Why?"
"I want to talk!"
"I don't know you." I said slowly so he could understand. From experience I know most guys can't take a hint.
"I don't know you either. But I want to." Tom flashed a smile again. "What's your name?"
"A hospital isn't a good place for flirting, is it?" I asked.
"I don't know. Never tried it. We'll see."
I just glared at him.
"So are you doing anything right now?" He asked, sitting down despite what I told him.
I rolled my eyes. No I wasn't doing anything. Yes, this guy was really cute. But I wasn't in the mood. And I had other things to worry about. One being my sister who is having her guts cleaned out because they blew up on each other.
But all I said was, "I'm sorry, can you just leave?"
He looked at me for a minute. I looked at anything but him. Finally he said, "I love you."
"...What?" I breathed.
"Okay, okay, I'll leave." He said.
And without another word. Without another stare. And without another glowing smile, he left.
On the chair I found a small piece of paper with a phone number on it.
