Apart For Now

 Maka POV

I limped all the way to Professor Stein's laboratory, waiting for horror to beseech me. I saw a window and looked into it. "Clear!" Professor Stein said as he was trying to revive Soul with defibrillator paddles. I passed Black Star and Tsubaki like they did not exist. One thing that was on my mind was to save my lov.....no I need to save my partner. I ran into the operation room, ignoring the pain in my body as I bust through the doors. "Maka! What are you do---" I pushed Stein out the way and starting performing CPR on Soul. My lips touched his with no hesitation as I blew oxygen through his airway and pumping his chest thirty times before I continued the cycle. Soul eyelashes were fluttering slowly as he began opening his bloody red orbs, "Maka, hey" he said in a raspy voice. "Soul" my tear ducts made clear liquid come out my eyes as I said his name. Professor Stein sighed in relief and I grabbed Soul's hand. "Hmm..I guess I got my ass handed to me by Kid, this is so not cool" he said. "Yea..you sure did but I'm here to take care of you so it will be ok" I said wiping my tears away. "I'm gla-----" he stopped mid sentence as his eyes started rolling to the back of his head. His body started shaking violently on the operating bed. He was having a seizure! "Dammit, Maka he going into shock!" Professor Stein yelled as he was grabbing the scissor to cut Soul's shirt in half. "I need you to get out! I have to operate on his heart" he said while grabbing some disinfecting solution and a scalpel. "No, I have to do something to help. Black Star and Tsubaki ran inside the room and grabbed me. "Maka, you have to go, you will be helping Soul if you left the room so Stein can do the surgery" Tsubaki said as she was dragging me out with Black Star.

Professor Stein POV

Dammit...he losing too much blood while I cut open his heart. I need a transfusion quick, I called Spirit on my cellphone. "Spirit I need you to come here to give me some of your blood, you do have type O negative correct?" I said. "Stein you are sooo not using me for another one of your experiments and wait how the hell you know my blood type?!" he yelled. "I don't have time for this Soul Evans is dying!" I said. "Ok I'm on my way now, is Maka there?" he asked "Yes" I said and I hung up. Soul's heart will ruptured into pieces if I don't save him now.

Lord Death POV

I was in the Death Room with Spirit talking on the phone. The situation doesn't seem good. "Lord Death, I have to go the kids are in trouble" he said running out the Death Room. "Hmmm let me check on Kid" I picked up my reaper telephone and called Kid. But I was unfortunately interrupted by Sid. "Lord Death, there has been a situation at Death Mall you need to hear about" he said. "Is there a witch or kishin involved?" I asked calmly. "No it's about your son...." he responded. "Well, basically Kid soul became very unstable and it started creating madness in the air causing a lot of casualties...no one died but many were injured. And the current status is Soul Evans is going through surgery because Kid blasted him. "Hmmm, interesting" I said and hung up. "I can't wait to get my reaper hands on Kid" I said as I was thinking about reaper chopping him until he needed brain surgery.

Kid POV

I heard that Soul is going through surgery because of me, so I decided to go Professor Stein's laboratory. Maka's father was walking into the operation room. I saw Maka, Black Star, and Tsubaki sitting outside the operation room against the wall. Maka had her head down and hands folded like she was praying, Tsubaki looking at the ceiling with a sad expression on her face, and Black Star crossing his arm with his eyes closed. "Hey" I said in a bland tone. All three of them looked up at me with hurtful and confused eyes. But afterwards they fell silent and ignored me. I am such a immature monster, how could I not control my feelings and hurt all those people? I decided to put all the medicine cabinets and first aid kits in symmetrical order. "I'm sorry" I bursted out loud as the guilt was killing me inside. "I, your God Black Star, should kill you but that's not going to help anything!" Black Star shouted. Maka lifted her head and stood up. Her eyes were red and puffy and her green eyes were dilated. She punched me lightly in my shoulder and said "I'll never forgive you or myself if Soul dies..". That struck my heart like an arrow and I responded "I'll never forgive myself either". I wrapped my arms around her and gently embraced her. Hours passed by and we all fell asleep except me against the wall. Tsubaki was leaning on Black Star's broad shoulder, snoring lightly. I had Maka in my arms sleeping with her hair down, I lightly started stroking it as the smell of green apples reached my nose. I kissed her forehead. Maka is so beautiful but I hurt he partner and one of the most important person in her life, I know after this she will never forgive me or love me anymore. Maka woke up slowly and looked up at me. "Kid, please can you kiss me on my lips?" she asked. "Why?" I asked in return. "Because I need you" she said.

Narrator POV

Maka and Kid's lips were getting more and more closer but then Professor Stein and Spirit came out of the operation rooms with grim expressions on their faces. Maka instantly stood up "IS HE OK!?" she worriedly asked. "The surgery was a success" Spirit said. "Thank goodness" Maka said and hugged Kid happily. Suddenly the room felt cold and quiet.

"But he fell into a coma......"Stein said
