"Go hide in the caves outside town," Beerus said. "I'll deal with these guys."

"R-Right away, Beerus-sama!" the children said, scattering.

"No sense wasting time," the feline warrior muttered to himself, as he flew off in the direction of the power he sensed.

Soon he came upon a large, saucer-like spaceship, surrounded by several aliens who had strange weapons attached to their arms, as well as a few overseer types without such equipment. He ignored the small fry and addressed the one who seemed to be the leader, a short, green-skinned being with black spikes on his body.

"Hey! Are you the ruler of these aliens!?" He asked, growling.

"I'm the commander of this mission, if that's what you mean," the squat alien replied. "Are you the one who killed my best scout? He hasn't reported in for the past minute or so."

"The same will happen to you if you don't get off this planet immediately, you little toad!" Beerus yelled, doing his best to intimidate the intruder.

The alien pressed a button on his scouter, which promptly exploded trying to measure his adversary's power level.

"Cheap piece of junk," the commander muttered. Beerus smirked.

"Don't get so overconfident," the alien warned. "I only use a scouter as a backup anyway, my species is quite adept at sensing ki. From what I can tell, you're at around 45,000. Certainly stronger than I expected of any of this world's natives, but nothing insurmountable."

"I think you're the one getting overconfident," the cat-man replied. "I can sense you too, and you're not as strong as me."

"Maybe not, but there is another talent my species possesses," the alien laughed, as his body began to shift and engorge, soon morphing into a shape somewhat reminiscent of a humanoid praying mantis.

"The talent of transformation! In this form, my power is over 100,000!"

Beerus gasped, sensing the truth of his words. He quickly got a hold of himself, though, and charged the alien, only for his blow to be dodged, and the mantis-creature to deliver a painful rejoinder directly to his stomach, making him sputter and cough up blood. Before he could recover, the alien continued with a double-handed smash, sending him crashing to the rock below.

As he slowly climbed out of the newly-created crater, his opponent hovered in the air over him, looking down on him with derision, tinged by a bit of respect.

"I'm surprised you're still standing. I rarely meet anyone strong enough to force me to use my transformation. You could be a valuable asset to Lord Icer's army if you were to join us."

"Why would I do that?" Beerus spat, eyes flashing with anger.

"Well, for starters, I'll spare your life," the mantis offered. "And if you're lucky maybe I'll spare some of the other beings on this world."

The purple-furred warrior's look of anger suddenly disappeared, replaced with a calmness that surprised the alien.

"You know what, that sounds like a good deal," he said, powering down. "Sure, I'll join you."

"You will?" The Arcosian commander was even more shocked, but quickly regained his senses. "Heh, I guess you're smarter than you look." He quickly reversed his transformation, reverting to his previous, squat form. "Come with me and I'll explain how things work in our organization." He turned towards the ship, beckoning for his new ally to follow him.

Instead, he was greeted by a flying kick from behind, knocking him off his feet and directly into the spaceship, now a smoking ruin.

"HAH! You idiot!" Beerus laughed, powered up again. "I can't believe you actually fell for that!"

The commander, already in the process of transforming yet again, howled in rage, causing an explosion that blasted away the debris of the ruined spaceship. "You just blew your last chance at a quick and painless death!" He screamed, charging the deceptive cat.

To his surprise, the feline dodged his first attack, although his second one connected, but Beerus quickly righted himself.

"What? You're stronger now! At least 75,000, by my estimation!" He growled in confusion.

"Yeah, you see," Beerus said, licking the back of his paw. "I'm the strongest person on this planet, so I don't get many chances to test my limits. In fact, I should thank you for showing up here, even if you did interrupt my nap. Now I can test how strong I really am!" He assumed a fighting stance, gesturing with his two forefingers in a "come at me" sign.

The mantis-alien snarled, and quickly raised his claws above his head, forming a large green sphere of energy, then hurled it at his opponent.
