Seeing the ki blast rush towards him, Beerus countered with a ki attack of his own, an orange beam that impacted on the alien's green sphere. Although it slowed its progress slightly, the energy ball kept coming, eventually overtaking the feline and smashing into the ground, creating a massive explosion.
The alien commander was panting, having used up a good amount of his power. But he was glad he had finally put down that insolent creature. Or at least, that's what he thought.
He barely sensed a strong ki signature, not having enough time to dodge the punch that knocked him into a nearby hill.
"What!? How did you survive?" He yelled angrily, flying to confront his attacker.
"That was a pretty strong attack, but luckily for me I escaped the blast radius at the last moment," Beerus said. He was panting too, but less than his opponent, as he seemed to be getting his second wind. "You were a decent challenge, but now it's over for you!"
The mantis-alien growled in anger, although he was also starting to feel fear for the first time since landing here. This creature should have been dead several times over! How was he able to keep fighting like this?
The two charged at each other, exchanging punches, kicks, and various blows in mid-air. As the fight progressed, Beerus started landing more and more hits, and his enemy started landing fewer and fewer. Finally, a finishing kick to the gut knocked the wind out of the green alien, causing him to fall to the ground, where his transformation quickly reverted.
Beerus landed gently in front of him, wiping a bit of blood from his mouth with his paw. His opponent was in a much worse state - many bruises and open wounds, bleeding from the mouth, and with several of his limbs twisted in unnatural positions.
"I gave you a chance to leave this world in peace," the cat-man said. "Personally, I'm glad you didn't take it. Now, maybe if you beg I'll kill you quickly."
Then the wounded alien did something unexpected - he laughed.
"What's so damn funny?" Beerus asked, angered. "I beat you!"
The alien continued to laugh, despite coughing up blood every few seconds. "Yes... you *cough* beat me... quite *cough* impressive... but, my - *cough* - troops, were watching..." He weakly raised a finger and pointed to a spot several hundred meters away, where a few of the aliens were looking on, fearfully.
"So what?" Beerus said. "They can't help you!"
"No... *cough*," the alien continued, still laughing. "But, the scouters they're *cough* wearing *cough*, transmitted this battle to *cough* to Lord Icer... in less than a year from now, *cough*, he'll, *cough*, send someone much stronger than me... to *cough* finish you off, and your *cough* little world... all you've done is *cough*, buy yourself some *cough* time..."
Beerus growled in anger and fired a ki blast at the dying alien, vaporizing his body. He then rushed over, intercepting the remaining aliens. They tried to fire their blasters at him, but he quickly disarmed them, killing a few. He then grabbed one by the neck and flew up in the air, nearly choking him as he dangled kilometers above the ground.
"You! Tell me everything you know about this 'Lord Icer' and his empire, now!"
