Magnus woke up, greeted with a dull throb in his head. He didn't remember being drunk enough to pass out. In fact he didn't remember much at all. He looked around the dimly lit room, the gray stone walls were damp, the air smelled stagnate. Magnus moved his hand toward his head but his reach was halted. gathering himself he looked down his arm where a silver ring circled his wrist, attached to a chain the end of which was sunk deep into the wall. A feeling struck Magnus one he wasn't use to, confusion. He finished his scan of the room his gaze landing on a figure in the corner, his back was to Magnus but he could see the slender but muscular build of the dark haired boy, runes adorned his arms. He knew this shadowHunter well. Alec. "You didn't have to go this far to get me alone." Magnus purred mischievously. "Oh I think I did." The boy said sharply, as he turned to face the warlock, he had something in his hand. Magnus blinked once in confusion, then again trying to clear his vision. Magnus' heart beat began to quicken he wasn't sure if it was excitement or terror. The boy held a silver dagger, he moved toward Magnus. "What are you doing?" Magnus asked his wide eyes fixed on the blade. "I want you to do something for me." There was something different in Alec's voice. "Anything Alexander." Magnus spoke softly, trying to hide the overwhelming feeling of terror and confusion welling up inside of him, Alec had never returned his feeling, but that didn't stop Magnus from trying. His dream had quickly turned into a nightmare. "I need your magic." The shadowhunter said in a serious tone. "For what?" Magnus asked. "That doesn't matter, I'll do whatever it takes." The boy's tone was hard. "You won't hurt me." Magnus whispered. "Won't I?" In a quick flash the dagger came across the skin of Magnus' chest, he gasped more in surprise than pain, a thin line of blood fell from the shallow cut. Alec's grin was evil, his eyes black. Magnus moved his own gaze to meet Alec's eyes again, he cursed under his breath. "Alec stop." Magnus said again this time in a warning tone. "Why should I?" The boys strong hand landed against the warlocks face. Magnus bit his tongue. "I won't do this." He said, and snapped his fingers, there were no blue sparks or smoke, the chains were still attached, Magnus cursed again. Alec laughed, it was the worst sound that Magnus ever remembered hearing. "Your magic won't work here." He smiled. Magnus' body filled with rage, a sound of thunder backed up the flashes of lightning, in the split second of light Magnus saw more of the room than he'd seen before. There was a window that led to another room, Magnus not being able to use magic didn't stop him from being able to see it, the panel glowed with a dark magic, someone behind it was watching. His father. A chill ran through his body. "I've been informed." Alec spoke darkly "That if I find a powerful enough warlock, we can create an all powerful race of shadowhunter, warlock hybrids." Alec added. That's what temped the uninterested shadowhunter. "I would make a new race, with you, Alexander." Magnus' eyes were pleading. He laid his head back against the hard surface he was laying on, his shoulders and arms were tired and becoming sore from the odd angle they were being held at. "I'd do anything form you." He added so quietly that he wasn't sure if he had actually said them or only thought them. "Really?" The boys eyes softened. "Give me your magic, your energy, all of it." He added. Magnus felt drained, wherever he was being held was clearly not in the mundane world. "If I give it up, I'll die." Magnus said sadly. "And you think I'd care?"
"I always hoped you did." Magnus took a ragged breath. "Well I don't." The boys voice was calm. "I'll keep my magic." The warlock growled. "Will you?" The boy took. Something else in his hand, Magnus didn't look up to see what, but he felt it, the the red hot pain of a heated iron being pressed against the skin of his leg. Magnus unwillingly let out a scream of pain, he noticed motion in the panel. Magnus had never been one to care much what people thought, and he didn't care what his father thought. It was the idea of him being tortured by a shadowhunter, by this shadowhunter, that made him want to disappear never to be seen again. Magnus didn't want to believe it, "Alec, someone has put you up to this! Stop now, if the clave finds out you will be stripped of your runes, That'll be worse than death for you. I'm sure someone is already on their way, let me go, and we'll do it together, make the hybrids but not here." Magnus' voice was pleading, his weakened body ached. "If you believe someone is coming." Alec moved the iron until it grazed the length of Magnus' leg, sending another wave of pain through his body. "Then why are you trying to make a deal with me?" The boys eyes were evil, so evil what had happened to him. "Why?" He repeated coming close enough that Magnus felt his warm breath against his ear. Magnus swallowed hard. "Because I love you." The shadowhunter's hand landed hard against his face again. "Well, I don't love you. I don't love anyone!" His voice was raised as he yelled at Magnus. In that moment the fury of the shadowhunter broke through his mask, Alec Lightwood no longer stood in front of Magnus, the dark figure standing before him was beautiful, and evil. Sebastian. Fear surged up in Magnus, every part of him was equally scared and ecstatic. "I knew you weren't Alec." Magnus spat. "Did you now?" Sebastian said tilting his head to the side. "I had hoped that you really would do anything for that lightworm." Sebastian turned his back to the warlock, "It would have been much easier for me. And less painful for you." His hand grabbed onto another sharp instrument, he moved toward Magnus, the door to the side blew off of its hinges sending Sebastian back peddling, a yellow glow came into the room, bathing the dungeon in witchlight. The glow ebbed as the gear clad shadowhunters moved into the room, Angelic names set angel blades glowing from their hands, Jace came in first looking like a lion ready to pounce, his gaze fixed on Sebastian, Isabelle followed him whip in hand, wild excitement in her eyes. The magic window panel had dissolved. Alec finally appeared in the doorway, holding his bow. His glance moved over Magnus and straight to his parabatai. Sebastian had backed him into a corner, Alec rushed forward grabbing Sebastian's shirt and swinging him around, he turned on Alec wild eyed and sunk a dagger into his shoulder, Alec recoiled, Isabelle moved to his side. Sebastian turned toward Jace again, and slammed his fist against the wall. A panel of stone moved to show a tunnel, Sebastian grinned wickedly daring Jace to follow him. Alec saw the temptation in his parabatai's eyes "Jace no!" He called, it was too late, Jace had already charged down the tunnel, Alec ran after him, the doorway was now blocked with an invisible barrier. Alec banged his fist against it. "Alec." Isabelle said with compassion. "Let me fix your arm, let the warlock lose, then we'll find Jace." Alec agreed, Magnus watched as Alec's muscles tensed and relaxed with the movement of Isabelle's steal.
Once she'd finished with her brother Isabelle moved to the cuffs ringing Magnus' wrists. After a few runes the cuffs popped open. Magnus rubbed his tender wrists gently. "Can you stand?" Alec asked looking at the wounds that decorated his body. "I might need some help." He answered. Alec offered a hand, Magnus leaned heavily on the shadowhunter. "It's really you." Magnus said quietly.
