"Life and death are twin sisters."
"Which one is prettier?" I asked, reciting our famed banter with a little smirk.
"Beauty's in the eye of the beholder, Goldie Locks." And a little wink at the end, just for me.
But she wasn't all there, not like she used to be. I saw her looking out of the corner of her eye, at the real Goldie Locks, I couldn't help but turn and look too. And there she was, the new girl, she had wings I promise. She looked like the sun itself. A white hot star so blindingly bright, that it even reached the dusty frozen dark corner of the solar system, it reached Pluto. And she's always been one to ignore these types of girls - these types of celestial starlets. But I think that now, global warming has set in. And I consistently notice the climate change get more and more extensive. The girl - the star - reaches for her backpack, it has daisies looped through the seams, and as she slides it on I notice that on the back, written in bold red letters, the name "Jane" resides.
