Chapter 1

"Mira! Mira! You need to wake up. We've arrived."

As I slowly opened my eyes I was greeted by the blinding light and my best friend. I sat up and looked out the window noticing the train really had stopped. As I was about to look away, I saw a flash of turquoise out of the corner of my eye and found myself looking at him- Teddy Lupin.

"Look I understand you like the guy, but I'm not missing dinner because you like staring at your boyfriend."

"Flora, he's not my boyfriend and I don't like him," I said rolling my eyes at her.

"Mhm keep telling yourself that."

I stood up, distracting myself from the boy outside my window, and ran my fingers through my hair trying to get the knots out. Flora then pulled me out of our cabin and began pushing me out so she could eat. Arriving outside, she finally calmed down and stopped to take a deep breath.

"It's great to be back. Isn't it, Mira?"

"Yeah, sure. Can't wait to be hated by everyone because I'm in Slytherin."

"Oh chill," she says with the roll of her eyes. "We'll be fine."

We then turned around and started walking to the wagons. After walking to where they were parked, I noticed we had arrived just in time, since there was only one wagon left. This one, of course, containing a certain blue haired boy. I looked over to Flora to tell her we were walking there only to find she wasn't there. Instead she was already climbing into the wagon. Dragging my feet I climbed into the wagon where the only seat available was across from Teddy. As I sat down, he lowered the book he was reading to look at who had sat across from him. He slowly closed the book and placed it on his lap.

"I'm sure we've met before but in case we haven't I'm Edward Remus Lupin, but everyone calls me Teddy," he said outstretching his hand.

"We've met before, but guessing you don't remember me, I'm Mira Capella Malfoy," I said tentatively shaking his hand. After that, the wagon was filled with an awkward silence with only the sounds of the birds in the forest to fill in.

"Well, I'm Flora Kellen Carrow, her best friend," Flora commented replacing the birds.

Laughing, Teddy shook Flora's hand.

"So I'm presuming your Flora Carrow's daughter."

"Close. I'm Hestia Carrow's daughter. My mom is her twin sister," she answered going back to reading her book.

"And you must be Draco Malfoy's daughter?"

"Yup, the last name is a dead giveaway," I replied tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Not really, it's more that striking white hair of yours. It suits you."

"Thanks, I guess."

'Oh my god oh my god oh my god! He complimented you! Play it cool and don't freak out.'

"No problem. I like girls to know when they're beautiful."

At this, I blushed and lowered my head while Flora coughed and looked down at her book, pretending not to be eavesdropping. At this point, the wagon had come to a stop in front of the stairs.

"Well Flora, Mira, it was nice meeting both of you and I'll see you later," he said hopping out of the wagon and jogging up the stairs.

As soon as he was out of ear shot, Flora let out a squeal.

"MIRA! HE CALLED YOU BEAUTIFUL."

"Yes I know, Mira, but that isn't gonna happen because I am the human incarnation of a potato."

"Shut up. If you met Gigi Hadid, she would be jealous."

"Flora, what did I say about over exaggerating?"

"Not to do it."

"Than why are you?"

"Oh whatever, new topic time. You and Teddy are so going to get together!"

"No, Flora, not happening, especially with Victorie Weasley at his side."

"DON'T SPEAK IT'S NAME!," she exclaimed acting as if she was the devil. "Honestly,Mira, it's probably gonna happen," Flora stated starting to climb the stairs.

"Key word 'probably'!" I yelled as I jogged up the stairs to catch up to her.

As we enter the Great Hall, finding our seats and sitting down, Flora piled up her plate and began to eat. I, on the other hand, only took a couple spoonfuls of mac-n-cheese. As I began eating someone sat down across from me and I looked up to see who it was.

"ALBUS! Oh my gosh, I haven't seen you all summer!" Flora exclaimed.

"Yeah, sorry. I'm a bit late. I had to talk to Slughorn about switching a class. Also, Mira, Teddy is staring at you."

"What?" I whipped around trying to find him and when I did, I found myself staring into a pair of piercing blue eyes. All of a sudden the doors to the Great Hall sprung open and in came McGonagall followed by the first years. He smirked and focused his attention on the front of the room where the sorting ceremony was about to begin.

After we had eaten, and Flora was about to crash, we headed back to the dorms. Arriving at our dorm room, I sat down on my bed and looked over at my barn owl, Archimedes.

"Well, Archimedes, here we go again. Hopefully this year will be better."

"Mira, stop talking to your owl before you spill all your dark secrets to him instead of me. Go to sleep," Flora grumbled out, collapsing on her bed without even changing out of her clothes.

Chuckling, I changed into my pajamas and brushed my teeth. After this, I climbed into bed with a certain blue haired, blue eyed boy on my mind as a blissful sleep took over me.
