Chapter 3

Grabbing my backpack and leaving the class room, I made my way down the stairs and outside to the greenhouse. Upon, entering the greenhouse I was overtaken by the smell of fertilizer and dragon dung.

As I was placing my stuff in a spot, a voice called out, "Mira!"

I turned my head to see Temple Mexborough, head of Slytherin, being pestered by James Potter, Albus' older brother and head of Gryffindor.

"Hey Temple, James," I curtly nodded at him.

"Hey Mira," James replied before heading to the end of the table.

Temple rolled her eyes and sat in the spot next to me.

"Okay, I understand that he's cute and head of Gryffindor and all, but he's so darn annoying I just want to kill him sometimes."

I chuckled, "Yeah, I guess, but I've got my eyes set on someone else."

"Ohhh, Mira has a boyfriend. Mira has a boyfriend."

"Temple, we aren't dating and we probably never will."

"Mhm, thats what they all say," she said, rolling her eyes and getting her books out.

Just before the bell rang, Flora came barreling in looking all flustered.

She stopped to take a breath and then began to move to her spot left of me.

She landed at the feet of Kaitlyn Applebee, one of Victorie's awful friends.

"Whoopsie, I didn't see you there," she giggled scornfully.

I was all ready to bash her head in when Mr. Longbottom beat me to it. He whirled around from where he was writing on the board and hollered, across the room, "MS. APPLEBEE!"

The whole class whipped their heads to the other side of the room where the professor was standing with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.

All eyes in the room were following him as he walked toward her with long strides. "Ms. Applebee, I don't know who your parents are, or who you think you are, but if not even The Boy Who Lived is allowed to act completely unnecessarily toward another student, then neither are you. If you would please like to go up to Professor Slughorn's room and explain to him why you must interrupt his class, I know both I and this entire class would be grateful."

Her eyes widened and she stammered out, " B-b-but I didn't do anything. I actually didn't see her there."

Here her voice got more threatening. "If you make me go there Mr. Longbottom, I'll...I'll...uhhh...I'll do something! I'll tell my parents you're a terrible teacher. They'll pull me out of Hogwarts! My little sister too! My dad, he's the editor of a newspaper! He'll give you terrible reviews. All of you! Hogwarts too! You'll regret it, I swear!"

"Ms. Applebee, I stood up in front of an entire courtyard of Death Eaters and told The Voldemort that I would rather die than join him, to his face. I don't think the threats of a 15-year old girl are enough to make me question my rules. Now leave." He then bent down and began to help Flora pick up her papers. Looking ready cry, Kaitlyn stomped out of the greenhouse, her cloak swirling behind her.

At this point I stood up and went to help Flora as well, glaring at Kaitlyn along the way. Bending down I picked up Flora's bag and some of her papers helping her up while Professor Longbottom picked up the last remaining papers on the floor. Handing them to me he smiled softly. I smiled and took some of the books out of Flora's hands as she was still situating herself. Moving her to her seat Professor moved to the front of the room where he began teaching the lesson.
