(THIS STORY IS OUTDATED AND I AM GOING TO COME BACK AND DO A BUNCH OF REWRITING JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW)
I remember the first invasion.
I saw it.
They took everything little by little and it formed a new dark age over everything.
At first it wasn't so.
At first we thought nothing of it.
The year 2080 was when we based colonies on other planets, spreading the human race past the stars. We built inhabitable homes on Mars, massive asteroids, and moons of other planets. Technology had advanced space travel and military combat like never before. We all thought we had reached a certain level of peace. But civil war broke out between groups of American government, and that of the government on the various planets we inhabited. Things were back to the way they were, with battles between humans like usual. A treaty wasn't signed until 2170 that ended the wars off planet. We celebrated in it. But we also had no idea what was going to happen next.
It was another war.
But not with humans.
2525 was when the first wave struck. Ships appeared in the blue skies above us, the forces of various countries not knowing how to react when conflict arose with the head of an alien government that declared war on the human race because of our destruction of an ancient reliquary belonging to those they worshiped. Driven by a misled religion, they therefore decided we were to be exterminated. And the Earth was thrown into a fire that it never escaped.
Armies of the hostile aliens arrived in WashingtonDC after bombing the state, killing millions of innocent civilians by each mark. The home lives of citizens all around the planet were disrupted slowly. At first nothing changed, except for seeing the devastation in the U.S. and helping anyway they could.
The second attack was in north Africa.
The UNSC, created and developed over the years as a force dealing with conflicts outside our own planet, retaliated with soldiers equipped with the most advanced artillery available to them. They fought back against the terrorists of space, the weapons made of plasma and a new form of technology unreachable for us, fighting back hard. But we were not outgunned. I thought we seemed evenly matched...
Kids started to miss school day after day. Parents were keeping them at home and fleeing to protect themselves. Governments of countries tried to keep mass panic from erupting, but no one could stop talking about it. Food was stored. Citizens were trained. People prepared for an apocalypse.
The drafts started after a third attack, casualties being many, recruiting men all around the world to fight for a single cause. Our armies grew... but so did theirs. The ships were not easily reachable and when we destroyed one with a nuke, another would come. This race of fighters was just as powerful as we were and maybe even more so.
Year after year we fought them, the whole planet becoming a battle ground against an alien race known as the Covenant. The war was not won, decades and centuries spent in conflict as this new threat decided our race both inferior and in the way of the quest of salvation they strived towards.
Long ago the beings they call the Forerunners, created rings in space, larger than planets themselves, and each with the capability to destroy entire realms. They believed that it was the key to ending the war they held with another force billions of years ago. Using them to destroy the universe meant saving the future from those they were oppressed by. This plan failed. And the enemy returned to take down other realms in the vast future.
The basis of the Covenant's religion is of the ancient Forerunners, worshipping them as gods and holding sacred anything they had left of them. The Great Journey, established by the leaders of the Covenant called the Prophets, was in motion to use the rings left by the Forerunners that float in various places around the universe, to try again the plan of the ancient race.
After learning of this, we tried to end it, sending any armies we had to keep the universe from being destroyed. This was the basis of events of war in the year 2531.
I have been all over the universe, through time and space. But that allowed me to slowly watch humanity become extinguished from my sight.
Realms beyond our reach became involved, races numbering in the thousands in regards to diversity connected together but not to be joined for a single cause. They fought, and slaughtered each other, misled in the intentions of each other and making attacks against the other races foolishly.
The universe was at war.
And throughout my adventures, trying so hard to stop it over the course of generations, retrying and failing over and over to look for a solution... I finally found one. And it's one man.
And as wars raged on throughout all realms in existence, something else crept up from the darkness that spread across the stars, taking everything in sight that it could consume. It is a terrifying existence in these monsters that flood over galaxies in the form of a sweeping infection. Nothing is immune. And all faded with its corruption.
I believe in unity, we have the power and the hope to stop this from its devastation if we combine forces. Divided we fall. But united we may have a chance.
There is no right way to end this war. Time is fragile and ever-changing. No moment is lived the same way twice. And the more I have traveled, I know for certain that all my attempts at saving us have failed. There were thousands of ways I have tried... but only one way that it will work.
Only one date can save this universe and it is my job to find it.
In this one way, I can find them, a group of heroes, lead by one man who has the power to destroy the source of our destruction. This is the end of the War of Worlds. I know it.
I can feel it.
I am the Doctor.
And I am here to save the universe.
