Michael hated everything about Luke, absolutely everything. The way he thought he was better than everyone else, the way he purposely smile at Michael with bright teeth as if to prove a point, that time Luke winked at Michael had sent his face the same colour as his hair, at least at the time when it had been red. And then Luke had never let that be lived down either. Michael hated Luke.

What was worse, Michael's best and essentially only friend adored him as if he was a god, a deity to worship on two knees to. Michael didn't know why, what was there really to like about the blond annoyance. Calum watched Luke's covers of bad pop songs on YouTube as if his whole life depended on it, avidly listening to him whilst Michael would just glare at Calum sourly.

So whilst Michael sat on the floor and played videos games, biting his lip to stop cursing too loudly, Calum continued to play Luke's covers from Michael's laptop, as if he wanted it to get tainted by Luke's presence on the screen, and part of him was waiting for the speakers to break from the wailing noises Luke produced that people somehow thought was good. That Calum thought was good.

"Can you turn that shit off," Michael yelled, throwing his controller down on the ground as he died for the seventh time in the last five minutes, and whipping round to Calum who was sat on Michael's bed and using Michael's laptop and just in general pissing Michael the fuck off. When will Calum realise Luke noises just shouldn't be made anywhere near him.

Calum looked up, a smirk on his lips as he let the video carry on playing, and Michael growled, standing up and tugging the laptop away from Calum, slamming the pause button, and then the close tab button, and then shutting the laptop off, before he finally turned back to Calum,"Why do you hate me?" Michael whined, joining Calum on the bed sulkily.

Calum grinned, patting on Michael's back as he pretended to cry, his face scrunching up and all in all just looking disturbing to Calum, who couldn't help but laugh loudly at Michael's antics,"Im surprised you can't sympathise with Luke," he said, smirking as Michael turned to glare at him again, though the way his white hair fluffed around his head really ruined the effect.

"It's a mutual agreement that me and Luke both hate each other," Michael grumbled, leaning against Calum's shoulder as the tv still flickered the home screen, and Calum rolled his eyes, lacing his fingers into Michael's hair and rubbing his fingers over his scalp.

"Glad you two agreed on something then," Calum replied gently, Michael making a small whine at his comment, as if to say we didn't actually agree, though that would contradict what he had just said as well, so he decided just to leave it be at that. "You know, Luke's pretty cool once you get to know him," he added whilst Michael was sinking against him, after all it was 2am and a school night. Calum was constantly wondering how Michael's parents were always so chill about these things.

Michael laughed weakly, shaking his head in Calum's firm grip,"Luke will never, ever, be cool. That's actually impossible," he replied, turning the tvs volume to a low hum, hardly audible unless you were trying to listen to it,"How could you even suggest such a thing?" He added, for extra support in his argument.

Calum just chuckled, dropping his hand from Michael's hair to his waist, pulling him over tightly, and to any bystanders they could look like a cute couple, but when Michael was sleepy he only wanted cuddles and Calum thrived off of all types of attention and it made each other quite a good fit in that sense. When people asked if they were a couple they would laugh with tears in their eyes at the thought of it, though.

"If you actually tried to hold a real conversation with Luke, maybe you would see that," Calum muttered whilst Michael snaked his hands around Calum's waist as well, liking how warm Calum was, how cuddly he felt, and if he could be bothered to move his head from where it was bent in the crook of Calum's neck, he would glare at him again.
