First she felt warmth on her face from the sun that casted a shade of red on her closed eyelids. Then she heard small and quiet noises, as if someone was peaking underneath every lid on every box in her room. Then came the sent of horses, like the one after a long riding, mixed with some kind of flowers. Narcissus, she remembered. It was strange to smell these kind of sents in her room, there were no narcissus anywhere around the castle and the stables were to far.
Raveena slowly opened her eyes, the light that the sun was casting on her mahogany bed was to bright, she closed her eyes again and groaned.
"Get up sleepy!"
She sat immediately at the sound of an unfamiliar voice and opened her eyes, blinded by the light. It was the girl, Lucian's sister, Dyrffina or something. She relaxed a bit, no monsters that hunted her dreams.
"What are you doing in my room? And how did you get in anyway?"
Dyrffina just giggled and continued her search trough Raveena's boxes. The boxes were all over her room, near the bed she was sitting on, leaning against the big table, hiding among the bookshelves that covered the most of the walls. But there was not much to find in them ; some old jewelry she had both collected and inherited truth the years, a bunch of her mother's drawings and some of her own's, a lot of flower peddles from all the flowers she had ever seen or came across and a lot of other useless, but somehow still important, stuff.
Raveena noticed that Dyrffina was different this mourning, like she lost some of her happiness and energy, like she was very tired. Her movements were slower. Her face was pale, a bit grayish, but despite that she looked the same, shoulder-length brown hair with perfect curls jumping at her every move, a little smile always on her lips.
Her clothes were different though, like she tried to dressed up but didn't like it and gave up half through the process. She was wearing a beige dress that hugged her upper part and went wider from the waist down and dark brown riding boots. Yesterday she wore riding pants and simple red shirt with black buttons, Raveena remembered, she seemed more at home in that than in a dress.
"A girl has her ways."
She said mysteriously and turned away to take a peak in Raveena's closet almost tripping over a pile of book in front of it. Raveena loved to read, she read a bunch of books at the same time, but she didn't try to put them back in their place, she left them anywhere she could find room witch resulted in a number of piles around the floor of her room.
When Dyrffina found nothing interesting in the closet, she strolled to the balcony, removed one of the green curtains that blocked her way and opened the door.
"Well what are you doing here?"
Raveena asked again when she steeped inside again leaving the door open. Raveena shivered when the cold morning air reached her.
"I told you we will talk after you take care of Lucian."
Raveena felt pain and disappointment at the mention of his name but her heart didn't miss the chance to still skip a beat at the thought of him.
"Have you made peace jet?
Of course you have, it is Lucian we are talking about."
Dyrffina said with strong french accent she didn't notice before and waved her hand through the air as if she was being silly to even think they have not.
