{Damon's POV}

I woke up at 9, and it took me a while to realize that I just went on a date with Lydia Sanders. Well, sort of anyway. I wasn't really sure if it could be classified as a "date", but whatever.

I pulled out my phone and read all our messages from last night, up until the very last one she sent me:

Lydia: I'm getting sleepy too... I had a great time today, Damon. Goodnight <3

I remember smiling like crazy at the message, before replying, saying:

I did too. Night <3

I felt a little bit like a teenage girl replying with a "<3" but, oh well.

I got up and hopped in the shower, wishing I had an excuse to see Lydia again today. I really like her.

I got out and threw on some gray sweat pants and a light blue v-neck shirt. I walked into the kitchen to get some kind of breakfast.

I clattered around in there long enough for my mom to hear me and wonder what the heck I was doing.

"Damon, what's going on?" she said, walking into the kitchen, hair ruffled and still in her pajamas.

"It's okay mom, I'm just getting breakfast," I said.

"You need help?" she asked, concerned.

"GOSH YEAH I DO." I said, looking at my mom with a goofy smile. I loved messing with her.

"Oh, hush," she said, and I smiled as she took over, getting some eggs out of the fridge and putting some bread in the toaster.

"Thanks mom," I said, and kissed her on the cheek as I walked back into my room to wait.

As I waited, I stared at my phone. Should I text Lydia? Should I ask her to come over? Should we do something? I really want to see her. Maybe I should just text her first.

I typed in,

Hey there :D

And sent it, after debating with myself for about 3 minutes with my finger hovering over the "send" button.

I waited, drumming my fingers on my knees anxiously, for her rely.

My phone vibrated a few minutes later, and I looked over to see that I had a message from Lydia, so I scrambled to snatch it up immediately.

Hey Damon :) what's up? It read.

I smiled and started typing out a reply.

Hey! Nothing much... Would you maybe want to come over to my house and watch some movies and like eat some pasta or something? I sent with a gulp. What the heck, it's worth a shot.

She replied a few minutes later:

It would be a privilege to eat pasta and watch movies with you, Damon. Where do you live?

I grinned so much that my face hurt. I sent her my address and told her she could come over whenever she wanted. She said she would be over at noon.

I was still texting and grinning excessively when my mom came in.

"The food's r- well you look mighty happy."

"Yeah...," I laughed. "Mom, is it alright if Lydia comes over at noon to watch some movies and hang around? Oh and could you make pasta?"

I had told her about Lydia the day that I met her, and she was thrilled about us going out yesterday. She never has met her, but I've told her enough and she likes her a lot.
