"Good morning, Ivy!" One of my roommates Lavender Brown smiled at me from across our bedroom.

I frowned. Lavender and I never said good morning. We were civil to each other, at best.

"Morning, Lavender." I muttered as I pulled my shoes on. I figured that she must want something from me, but what?

"So you're friends with Ron, right?" She asked, batting her blue eyes stupidly.

"Yeah...." I answered suspiciously. What was she getting at?

"Do you think you could introduce me to him? I always wave at him, but I'm not sure he sees me. He's so cute." She giggled, and I resisted the urge to vomit.

That was it. That's what she wanted.

"Maybe some other day, Lavender. He's really nervous about the Quidditch game today, and I'm not sure he would appreciate being flirted with right now." I shrugged, opening the dorm room door.

"Fine, I see how it is. You won't even do something for your long-time friend. You're probably hopelessly in love with him, but guess what? You'll never have him, because he's mine!" Lavender screeched, before pushing past me, barreling down the stairs, and storming out of the common room in a blur of blonde curls and pink bows.

Confused at what just happened, I slowly made my way downstairs to see everyone staring at me.

"What was that about?" Ginny asked from her spot beside the fireplace.

"Lavender is infatuated with your brother, and thinks that the reason why I won't introduce her to Ron is because I'm apparently in love with him." I scrunched my face up in disgust, and everyone snickered under their breath.

"That's a load of rubbish." Ginny laughed, standing up to meet me by the door.

"I'll crush on Ron when Hell freezes over." I giggled as we walked through the portrait hole and into the corridor.

Ginny and I chatted all the way down the moving stairs, through the corridors, and into the Great Hall.

It wasn't until I looked at the breakfast in front of me that I finally stopped talking, and she seemed to be thinking the same thing. The food at Hogwarts was always incredible, and I wasn't going to miss out on filling up on all the mouth-watering food on the table.

As we arrived at the Gryffindor table, she sat down with a few girls from her year, leaving me to sit with Ron, Harry, and Hermione.

"Goodmorning guys." I smiled at all three of them. Hermione shot me a forced smile, Harry muttered something unintelligible under his breath, and Ron made a strange groaning sound as he stared at the empty plate in front of him.

"Cheer up Ron, I know you'll be brilliant today!" Lavender popped up from out of nowhere and giggled at Ron, before shooting me a cold glare and skipping back to her end of the table.

I took a considerably large bite out of my toast, not quite sure what to say. I wondered if perhaps it would be better if I just stayed silent...

"Bloody hell, I'm going to be sick." Ron mumbled, burying his face in his hands. Hermione bit her lip nervously, obviously concerned for her best friend.

"Hey Weaselbee, I just wanted to say thanks!" An all too familiar voice sneered from the table behind Hermione and I.

"Thanks for what?" Ron asked obliviously as he bit into his waffle.

"For making Gryffindor lose the game today. Slytherin really appreciates it." Malfoy smirked, casually leaning against the wooden table.

"Piss off, Malfoy." I sighed, not in the mood to hear him insult anyone, let alone my friends.

"Oh look Weaslelbee, your girlfriend is fighting your battles for you." He snickered, and the other Slytherins around him laughed as well.

"I knew it!" I heard Lavender screech from the far end of the Gryffindor table, causing me to roll my eyes.

"For God's sake.." I muttered under my breath, feeling my blood begin to boil because of Malfoy and Lavender.

"The game hasn't even started yet Malfoy, so don't get your hopes up." Harry butted in, glaring at the blonde boy.

"Yeah, Gryffindor is going to kick Slytherin's pathetic asses." Hermione joined in.

"We'll see." Malfoy smirked, before standing up and quickly exiting the Great Hall without saying a word to his friends at the table. Bloody git.

The four of us were silent for a few moments, trying to figure out how to break the ice.

"Drink up buddy, you'll feel better." Harry suddenly spoke up, pushing a goblet of pumpkin juice towards the redhead.

"Don't drink it Ron! He put something in it!" Hermione hissed, reaching across the table to slap his hand away from the cup.

Sure enough, I glanced at Harry to see him slipping a small phial of golden liquid into his shirt pocket.

"Liquid Luck." I blurted out, slapping my hand across my mouth in hopes that no one else heard me.

"That's illegal Harry. Ron, you can't possibly be thinking of drinking that!" Hermione nodded at my realization, before frowning at the two boys across from us. Ron shared a look with Harry, before shrugging and downing the drink.

"Ronald, you could be expelled!" Hermione gasped, crossing her arms over her chest. Ron didn't seem to care.

"Well, how do you feel?" I asked Ron, who had stood up abruptly.

"I feel... brilliant. Come on Harry, we've got a game to win." he clapped his friend on the back, before exiting the Great Hall.

"You shouldn't have done that." Hermione sighed, taking a bite out of her egg.

"It's no worse than a Confundus Charm." Harry retorted with a knowing smirk on his face.

"That is... completely different." She stuttered as her face burned bright red.

"Not really. See you girls at the game." He chuckled, before also leaving the Great Hall.
