Four years. Four years Dylan and I have been dating. Four wonderful, fully spent years that made me cry tears of joy. And it wasn't until today that it was the best moment of my life.

I tiredly leapt out of bed when I saw that there was an empty spot where Dylan should be. Shuffling over to the window, I opened it as I did every morning. The summer air filled the bedroom bringing in the sent of the city air. Horns bleeped and people yelled but I was perfectly okay with that.

"Y/n?" I heard Dylan call out my name. Quickly, I ran down the stairs of our small apartment home and stumbled into the kitchen.

Dylan had his hair in a mess. His gray pajama shirt was wrinkled and his plaid pajama pants were low on his waist. "Hey babe." I sang as I sat down at the counter. He smiled widely at me. I could never leave that smile, it would just kill me. "What'cha makin'?" I asked playing with my hair. I noticed he had a frying pan on the range. Sizzling could be heard from where I was seated and I had to say it smelled delicious.

"Bacon." He replied in a funny voice. I giggled at his foolishness and that made him smile even more. If that was possible.

"Aright I gotta get ready for work..." I said with a sigh and then ran back up the stairs.

Hastily, I threw my clothes on and ran down the stairs. "By Dyl, I'll see you later."

"But you didn't get to eat my bacon..."

The occupation that I held wasn't very good but as long as I had Dylan I was in good hands. Being a Starbucks barista had its flaws but it was fun to work with my best friends so I didn't mind.

My eyes widened as Katie held a large container of whipped cream in her right hand. "Katie don't please-"

Before I could finish my sentence I felt the cold fluffy substance all over my face. "Oh please it's not that much Y/n-" she took the container and squirted some into her mouth.

As the next costumer came into the shop I wiped the leftovers off of my nose. "How can I help you today?" A young man about my age was standing in front of me as I worked the register.

"Uh... Can I have a- oh..." As his blue eyes hovered over my chest I pulled my barista apron up higher. I cleared my throat feeling slightly uncomfortable. "You have something on your nose..." He winked at me before reaching his hand out to wipe it away. Before I could react he licked it off of his fingers.

Gross

"I'll have a plain coffee." He stated overconfidently. Inside I wanted to cut his right testicle off but I just kept a smile like store policy's had us cashiers do.

Katie snickered as she knew I was dying inside. She poured the dark liquid into a cup as me and the odd man were still standing in front of each other.

"Oh and another thing..." He smiled a like an idiot.

"What would that be?" I asked ready to punch in another order.

"Your number?"

I raised an eyebrow back up to the man who was standing like he had just won the lottery.

"I have a boyfriend..." I coughed at him almost choking on my own words.

His smile dropped as he took the coffee from me. "Oh... I just didn't see a ring on your hand so I assumed..."

"Leave." Katie snarled behind me.

As the store began to grow more quiet I started to think about what the man had said to me. Not a ring on my finger. I looked at my left hand. Did Dylan even want to marry me?

The night grew on and the streets of the city were quiet. I watched as a couple teenagers walked by laughing together. I remember when Dylan and I used to walk the streets with our friends.

As the thought crossed my mind a dashing man walked into the shop Dylan. There were at least two people at the tables nearby who stared in aw. Of course I wasn't going to brag about dating an actor because I would be harassed with questions.

"Hey babe." I looked over his body as he was dressed in a tuxedo. My legs moved quickly around the desk and over to him.

"What are you doing here- and dressed like that?" I blushed deeply when I saw people were staring at the two of us. Phone were held up as if people were videotaping the scene.

Dylan bit his bottom lip as he put both hands in his pockets. "I've been wanting to do something for a while." He started looking around. "Katie!"

"Dylan." Katie replied with his name.

"Video?" Dylan asked. Katie nodded her head and pulled out her phone.

"Wait Dyl, what the hell is going on?" I asked now very confused.

Dylan's cheeks grew pink as he dropped down to one knee. "Y/n, I'm not all for romantic things and I'm sorry but I couldn't wait. You are the woman that I dream of every day. If I'm gonna grow old with someone it's gotta be you." He paused and pulled a box out of his pocket.

My eyes widened as I realized what was happening. "Dylan..." I said his name under my breath as I felt tears pricking at the corners of my eyes.

The box opened revealing the most beautiful engagement ring. "I need to spend every second of every day with you knowing that we will always be together. Four years. Four years since I fell in love with you, and I've never stopped loving you..." Dylan's voice cracked as he too began to shed a couple tears. "Marry me Y/n?"

Speechless I nodded my head up and down. "Yes." I could barely hear myself.

Dylan stood up as he placed the ring on my finger and before he could speak a pressed my lips to him. It reminded me of the first time I kissed him. Loving, passionate and full of new things to explore. After all I had a whole lifetime with Dylan ahead of me.
