Stuart's POV

Of course she was the reason I wanted an internship here. She was amazingly brilliant, funny and to top it off absolutely gorgeous. Y/n Y/n/l is her name.

We were neighbors a long time ago in my hometown. Used to be the best of friends. I remember the nights I would crawl through her window to comfort her from yet another breakup. She would cry into my shoulder and I would think how it would've been different if she was mine.

Senior year, graduation day. I remember she cried for an hour. We were to head to two different colleges and being best friends through all of it would break both of our wallflower hearts. I remember the way she looked at me as she hugged me one last time. The way we weren't afraid to cry in front of each other.

Now here I was. Standing in front of the building she worked in. Google. It was my master plan to get her back. Maybe this time even have her fall in love with me like I fell in love with her.

I took a seat on the bleachers designed for the interns grunting as I did so. My eyes scanned the room for any familiar faces. None.

I began to scroll through my phone reading up on this internship I was about to enter.

"Stuart?" My eyes snapped up.

"Y/n." She scanned my body. If it was possible it was almost as though she had gotten more beautiful.

She wrapped her arms around me tightly squeezing me. "I can't- I can't believe you- your here Stuart your- your here!" She stammered in as we both stared at each other.

"Y/n would you like to get some dinner with me tonight to catch up?" I asked her calmly.

She nodded her head quickly. "I have to get to a meeting but. I'll be here at the end of the day. See you then." She walked off like it was the best day of her life.

I couldn't even explain how long we had been talking. Catching up on each others lives. Remembering high school.

It was the most wonderful day I've had since well- since high school. She surprised me with another question. This one a little more pushy. "Stuart is this a date?" She asked looking up from her plate of food.

My cheeks burned red as she asked the question. "Well only if you want it to be." I mumbled searching her face for any expression.

"What if I want it to be?" My heart started beating faster.

"Then it's a date." I sad smirking at her.

It's the only time she ever showed any affection towards me ever. All those boys through high school and finally I was here on a date with Y/n Y/l/n.

"Maybe you could also stay the night like you used to."

"Maybe."

"And maybe this time it will be more than me crying to you." My eyes widened as she spoke seductively.

"Maybe." I spoke out it a stifled breath. She giggled at my foolish self as she took another bite of whatever was on her plate.

Finally. I could be with her.
