The bell rang, our trance breaking. Ash abruptly got up from his swing, the whole thing shaking in the process. He looked into my eyes for a moment, before saying, "See you in Science."

Science! I ran off to catch up with Ash, but realized he was nowhere to be found! That sneaky guy, I only looked away for a second!

I can't be late for Mr. Jacksons class, I thought in panic as I ran through the hallway, clutching my throbbing face.

I arrived breathlessly, but was lucky enough because Mr. Jackson was just about to begin, though he did give me a glare as I took my seat next to Ash.

Ash didn't look at me, and it hurt a little, after what we'd just been through, but I shook it off.

Mr. Jackson walked up to the front of the class with a - smile?! "Today we will start working on our projects. You have one week to complete it with your partner before we present them. Now get to work!" He announced.

I looked sideways at Ash, and he looked back at me. A grin formed in my face. "Paper mâché!" I cried in delight.

He chuckled at my excitement, to which I shot him a frown, and he tried to contain his laughter.

"Don't know how we're gonna do that..." Ash trailed off.

"To the art room!" I declared loudly. Mr. Jackson gave me yet another glare and put a finger to his lips.

We walked down three hallways to reach the art room. Ash didn't speak to me the whole time. Our silence wasn't unbearable though, it was a pretty comfortable silence.

I opened up the door to the art room, and flicked on the light. No lights came on. I tried again, and another time, but still nothing.

"Stupid janitor." I muttered under my breath."

"Relax", Ash said pulling out his phone.

"And what is a phone going to help us with? We're gonna call for help?!" I demanded while rolling my eyes.

"Yeah right. No, there's a flashlight." He said.

"Heh, whoops, didn't think of that." I said sheepishly.

He handed me his phone and I walked in, greeted by the many messy, over spilling drawers. I put Ash's flashlight into each one, and not being able to find the thing I was searching for, newspaper. There was about seven more drawers to go when Ash's phone died, and I was encircled in darkness. I looked toward the door, where Ash had been waiting, he was no longer there.

Suddenly the door closed! Alright I'll admit to you one thing, I'm am scared of the dark. Yep, I'm a five year old at heart, but right now I didn't care, I was too preoccupied with the blinding darkness.

"Ash?!" I screamed. "Ash... Where are you?! I demanded, my voice raising.

"Boo!!!" A dark figure screamed at me.

"AHHHHH" I cried in fear. Suddenly the lights flicked back on, and I saw Ash's grinning face. His grin melted when he saw my expression.

He came up close, and gave me a pitiful smile, "Awwww, are you scared?" He asked.

"That is not funny! I've been hit in the face with a dodgeball by you, and now you scared me to death. Are you trying to kill me?!" I demanded, my voice raising.

He replaced his grin with a frown. His tone turned serious. "Right, I'm sorry, it was mean of me and will never happen again."

"Great, now if there's no more distractions, let's find some newspaper and glue." I said. But a part of me is ok when he does stuff like this, when he reveals his fun side, because he's always so serious.

After ten minutes of searching every drawer top to bottom I couldn't take it anymore. "That's it! I give up! And I don't know how we're going to do paper mâché now." I cried out in defeat.

"Maybe we could hang out after school and work on it?" He suggested.

"Does my house work?" I asked.

His gaze wavered for a moment before returning to normal. "Yeah, I think that could work, I'll meet you in front of the big oak tree at the front of the school and we could walk there?"

A spark of hope blazed in my chest. "Yeah, that would be great! I'm sure my mom won't mind."

The bell rang suddenly, interrupting our plans. "Bye Ash, I gotta get to study hall!" I declared in a rush, running from the room.

"Wait!" Ash called, but it was too late, I was already gone. "I wanted to know if you wanted to sit with me in study hall..." He muttered under his breath.

I rounded the corner quickly so I could get to me and Katie's usual table. "Hey Lil... Woah!" She said laughing, "First your head and now your face, what's happening to you?"

I gave her a little glare, I didn't think it'd be that noticeable! Way to boost my self esteem, I thought grumpily.

She may of been laughing, but I knew she was genuinely concerned for me. And so I told her all about my chaotic day. From getting hit in the face, Ash in the girls washroom, the mean scare, and the plans Ash and I made. And at the end, Katie started to squeal, "So Ash and you are going to your house tomorrow, Ash as in your  cute science partner, after school, like a date?!!?!!" Her voice was so high pitched and exited.

"Gosh, Katie when can a guy and a girl just hang out without it being considered a date?" I asked crossly.

But Katie just winked.

Ash's P.O.V

I tossed and turned in bed.

It was three am and I still couldn't sleep. But I knew why.

It was because of her, her with her sweet personality and contagious smile.

I am just so unsure of things!

I don't know what to do, but I must come up with a decision, and quick.
