After two days of lounging around at home my mom was now making me go back to school.

I sighed. Katie and my friends have been texting me nonstop but I just don't want to answer their questions. And what would Ash say when he saw me? Would he talk to me about that night or continue being his silent self?

I turned off my lamp and crawled into bed. I hugged Carrot tight. Tomorrow would be a long day.

I needed help. I was alone, trapped in the forest. It was dark, and I was scared and hungry. I finally reached a clearing in the woods. I sat down on a log. I cried and screamed out for help. No one heard me. I curled up in a ball and fell asleep. Then there were arms carrying me,protecting me. I opened my eyes to see my saviour. I looked into a pair of deep brown eyes. As soon as I saw them though,I felt myself falling down and down. No one was there to protect me anymore. I was alone in the forest, sad and afraid once more.

My alarm went off ending my nightmare. I got up and turned it off. I realized I was shaking. That nightmare seemed so familiar,as if I had lived it. My own experience in the forest wasn't that bad,but then again there was so much from that night I don't remember.

I quickly got ready for school. I looked in the mirror before I left. I had a big purple bump on one side of my head, but other than that I looked okay.

The big brick building came into view. I checked the time. I'm ten minutes late! I tried to run faster but the rain and wind stopped me. By the time I entered school my hair was frazzled, and I was five minutes late.

The lady at the front desk looked at me in a scowl. She was one of those school secretaries who was old fashioned and yet thought her taste was still in style. "Late,I presume?" She questioned sounding bored. "Yeah." I said mimicking her tone. She reaches into her desk and pulls out a pink slip of paper. I'm about to thank her and turn away when she gives me a butterscotch candy and a smile. I return her smile. "Thanks!" I call over my shoulder as I head to class.

Since I missed Homeroom my next class was English. I was the first one there since everyone was probably still putting away their thing from Homeroom. For the whole class we read to kill a mocking bird and then after a few chapters we did questions. Pretty boring.

The bell rang signalling lunch and I bolted from the class. I walked into the cafeteria to find all my friends already there. I set down my things and sat down.

"Lily! We're have you been? I've texted you like fifty million times!" Katie demanded.I sighed. "I was sick..." I muttered under my breath. She suddenly gasped. "Lily, what happened to your head?" "Yeah..." I barely whispered. "Lily, yeah doesn't answer the question." Tiffany pointed out. "I fell down the stairs and was unconscious and had to go to the hospital." I said it as quick as I could. I didn't know why I was lying to my friends, I usually could tell them anything. "Then why didn't you answer the texts and calls?" Katie kept on pestering me. "Katie, leave her be. It looks like she's been through enough." Jazzy said softly. They didn't know half of the things I've been through. I shot Jazzy a grateful smile. "Thanks." I replied gratefully.

After that, Jazzy quickly changed the subject. I glanced around the cafeteria. Ash was not there. I told myself that I had not just been looking for Ash and continued eating my sandwich.

I speed walked down the hall to science. I took a deep breath and opened the door. Ash wasn't there yet. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I took out my notes and sat down.

"Today we will be reading from the textbook, turn to page fifty five." Mr.Jackson said. He seemed to be in a somewhat good mood. "Today we are going to read all about the planets in our solar system." A small smile tugged at his lips. "Which brings us to our first project of the semester." He continued. A collective amount of groans rippled through the class. "Along with your partner you will work together to - "Sorry I'm late." Ash said as he bounded through the class interrupting Mr.Jacksons lecture.

Mr.Jackson shot Ash a glare. "You're late." Mr.Jackson stated the obvious. Ash just smiled. "You think your funny?" Mr.Jackson demanded. Ash just gave him a cheesy grin. "I try." There was a chuckle in his voice he was trying to contain. If this was a cartoon, there would have been smoke coming out of Mr.Jacksons ears. His once good mood had completely slipped. No one talked back to Mr.Jackson and got away with it...ever.

Mr.Jackson took a deep breath trying to calm down. Ash sat down next to me and took out his notes as if nothing had just happened.

Miraculously, he started talking again about the group project. I leaned into Ash and whispered; "No one talks back to him and gets away with it." I warned. He looked up at me hesitantly, as if contemplating talking to me. Then he leaned over and whispered; "But I do." I smirked and watched Mr.Jackson explain the project.

The project was simple : choose a planet and make a three-D-model of it. We chose Saturn. "And we could make it out of paper mâché!" I said excitedly. Ash softly chuckled. "I've never seen you so exited before." He noted. I blushed. "Yah,well- I was interrupted by the bell.

We both got up and headed for the door. "Ash,may I talk to you for a moment?" Mr.Jackson called after us. I smirked at Ash. "Told ya so." I whispered victoriously after him. I bounded out the door smiling.

My smile didn't leave my face for the rest of the afternoon.
