Everything went quiet....
Then Dan's wonderful voice filled the huge room. "These are the things, the things we lost, the things we lost in the fire, fire, fire!"
As Woody's drumstick hits the first drum, all the lights come on. They shine every color of the rainbow around the huge room. Triangles spin around on the ceiling.
Oh my god, this will be harder this I thought.
Dan starts his song amazingly, as always. "We sat and made a list, of all the things that we had. Down the backs of table tops, ticket stubs and your diaries. I read them all in one day, when loneliness came while you were away. Oh, they told me nothing new, but I love to read the words you used."
As Dan sings the chorus Woody bangs his drums harder to balance everything out. The stage lights become brighter, then go out, and come back on again.
Everyone is on their feet dancing, jumping, and just having fun. I want to have fun at a Bastille concert too.
For a minute I want to forget myself and forget my mission. Just for a minute I relax and join the crowd jumping around and having fun.
"Her" POV
I sneak through all the twisting hallways of the concert hall. I am nearly inaudible as I creep through the hallways. They keep the lights surprisingly dim back here. I go completely unseen in my black jump suit.
I carefully read all the signs on the doors I pass. I can't make a mistake. No flaws here, just perfection. I think to myself. There's no room for mistakes.
I look carefully for the lighting room. When I turn the corner, it's the first thing I see. "The lighting room!" I whisper excitedly.
I go to open the door, but it's locked. This was to be expected... I think as I pull the keys out of my pocket. I carefully unfold them out of the cotton I wrapped them in. Always come prepared.
I quietly slide the key into the lock and crack the door. I put my head in first, then my whole body. I quietly close the door behind me.
There's only one person in the room. A tall skinny dude looking out of the tinted windows at the stage. He'll be easy to take down.
I lock the door behind me and press my body against the wall. The lights are off, so he can't see me. But I can see him. His body is slightly illuminated by the bright lights of the concert.
I slide quickly- but quietly- to the skinny guy. I'm so close to him right now, I can almost touch him. I'm tempted to just like his shoulder.....
Stop! I mentally slap my hand. You're going to ruin the plan! I take a deep breath and pull the sedative out of my pocket. "Sweet dreams," I whisper as I jab the needle into his neck. He gasps and his eyes go wide, but it's too late for him to fight. His eyes close and his body goes limp. I catch him before he hits the ground. I lay him gently on his back. "Dream of good things." I whisper. That should keep him out for an hour or two...
I go to unlatch one of the the big tinted windows above the stage. I push it open very slowly and stay out of the light that streams in.
I hook myself into the zip line other performs use when performing. I then walk over to the different switches on the wall. Some are for the lights, the others are for the power. I have a hard time trying to figure out which one to do first, but I don't have that much time to choose.
I decide to do power first, then all of the lights. I take a deep breath.
It's time....
Let's do this....
I pull down every switch as fast as I can. Then run to the open window and jump.
Alex's POV
I sing and dance along with the crowd. This is so fun! I don't want it to end!
But it has to...
But I don't want it to....
Well, it's gonna end one way, or another.
That's when I realize where I am, and what I'm supposed to do. Oh no!
Oh yes! My mind mocks me. I run to the front of the stage, or at least try to. But in too slow. The lights go out and the power does too. The last thing I see is a flash of red before the lights go out completely.
