How Its Always Been

rows upon rows, lost;
lined and linked parallel clouds
dim wisps, compared to navy blues
and blacks behind
its how its always been.
heat waves from air vents
woven their own cocoon
warm spirits of comfort, in a cold car
the disparity between it and beyond the window
a way to blacken vision
cars upon cars, lost;
a symphony of black and blue
muted with a sky to match their own hues
its how its always been.
last days at another place
left up to our own devices
left to the open air
crescent moon
upside down in our eyes
a smattering of stars
the freckles of the black and blue goddess
only disrupted by the endless night
a perfect panorama
on both sides, lost;
long stares, drowsy thoughts
i never want to close my eyes-
never want to let go-
its how its always been.
