[A/N: companion poem to "& The Butterfly"]

{we fly the same}
of movement;
in the dark, or of it
{black feathers against cuts of blue;
moondust against shaded velvet}
the crow and the moth
a representation in an accepted perspective
{corvids of omen and the
gullible insects of imminence}
bridges between us-
a comparison to butterfly scales
in the light, paradox of colour
(juxtaposition is your enemy)
{belief in a world, this fleeting hope}
a future of arthropods, both night and day;
of black-winged birds
coexistence-
its a kind sentiment
{doomed, under the eyes of the many}
