Kaylen's POV

It's been 2 months since Tyler's death. For some reason , deep down inside she's out there... Somewheres. Maybe I'm crazy for thinking it , but you have to have a little hope. Especially in this state of mind, to keep sane I guess. We were walking to find any shelter and food we could find. Once we left the school building , I led them to my house to get as much food and water bottles as we could. It last for the 2 months but , we're running low. To be honest we maintained our weight, but if we don't find food soon, we'll be more tired and weak as it is. So , we need to re stalk and find shelter for all of us to sleep. To be honest none of us had a goodnight sleep. It's always been one eye open. Yeah we take night shifts but , it just wasn't cutting it. I mean it's bad enough we're all taking a big hit in the face with Tyler's death. I mean the sleeping arrangement was the icing on the cake , and it's taking a huge toll on all of us. Not only is it Tyler , the food , the sleep, but our protections ( or weapons ). We've been using knives but as well as guns. Why? Because we're kids and we always seem to come close to dying. If Tyler was here she'd teach us how to make sure we knew what we were doing . But , she's gone now , and there was nothing we could do. We've had to camp out a lot since our shelter was over runned by walkers. Yes , we gave them a name. It took some time and long arguments but now we don't have to call them things. Even though they are but , you know.

We walked for what seemed like hours. About a minute or so , we heard the most blood curdling scream ever made. Making all of us stop and look in terror. I took my gun out and loaded it. " Kaylen , what are you doing, we need to save our ammo"! Kian said . " I know , but we can't just leave the person. There probably being hurt by a person, or worse the walkers"! I said , back walking to where the scream came from. " but the ammo , we can't waste it "! " well , we can use it to spare a humans life. Aren't you human. Let's keep our heads straight and sane before we lose it. Ok ." I said walking faster. After awhile , we heard 13 gun shots fired near by. I took off running. Trying to navigate where the sound came from. We came to a halt when we saw 13 walkers dead on the ground. We looked up from the sound of struggling on the right of us. One of those things was on a girl, trying to get a bite out of her face. I aimed at the walkers head and fired, making it fall on the girl. She wasn't moving. You could tell she was weak , due to her very frighteningly skinny figure and pale skin. As I ran closer and took the walker body off the girl , I gasp in happiness and terror. It was Tyler !! The others noticed as well , but backed up to give her some air. " Tyler ! It's me Kaylen, we're gonna' get you out of here! Stay with me Tyler , stay with me! " I said , shaking her a bit. " we need to find shelter , and quick. The walkers will be coming soon. Help me with her and let's go" I said grabbing her by her ankles while Natalie got her arms. We tried running as fast as we could to find any shelter . " up ahead there's a cottage!! " kian said jogging a bit faster. As we got to the door, kian went in to check for any walkers and came back out and nodded. We walked in quick , setting her down on the floor.
" pass me my water bottle ! " I said eagerly. Emily passed the water. I snatched it in a hurry and opened the cap and poured some water over her face. Tyler opened her eyes, sitting up frantically. " Christan , where's , CHRISTAN"! She yelled. I covered her mouth and said . " are you trying to get us killed "! Tyler jolted up , pushing me away in the process. " who are you " she said , with fear in her eyes.
" Tyler it's me Kaylen , it's us , koan , Aj , Emily , and Natalie, we're here , " she shook her head , " no no , this isn't real , they're dead , wait am I dead , oh , no I'm hallucinating, oh Christan she's " I slapped her across the face . I know it was a bold move but she was sounding ridiculous, but I wouldn't blame her I mean being gone for 2 months and turning up out of the blue and her practically dying , I'd be going insane as well , but it's time to get this shit together. I'm not watching my friend lose herself because the world went to shit . She looked at me in utter disbelief while holding her red cheek. " look, I know you're scared ok, we helped you, you were being attacked and when I shot the walker you blacked out and we got you here. Everything's going to be fine Tyler , your not dead and your not hallucinating, it's real" I said . She looked at me for what seemed like forever. I was ready to give up but before I turned away she pulled me into a tight hug. I hugged as tight as she did and smiled while a tear rolled down my face. " I thought I'd never see you again" she said , feeling my shirt get wet. " well best friends always find there way back to each other" I said pulling out of the hug and wiped my tears. " this whole 2 months me and my sister tried finding you, and I was giving up but now that your here , now that I see you , I feel like there is still hope in this hopeless world" she said wiping her tears.
" wait , but we thought you were dead " I said wanting an answer as well as the others. " what ! No , I found my sister and we were gonna go and my sister said she wasn't going to leave if we took the person that helped her get to safety, turns out the person that helped her was Cassie . I had just told her that she could come when..... When the bomb went to the class we were in. " Tyler said , tears rolling down her eyes. " if , if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be here , she saved our lives " she said , wiping her tears. " and I'm soo sorry Kaylen but I lost the neckless you gave me, I tried finding it but it was getting bad and-" I cut her off " I know, we went to the room to be sure , and Aj found what we thought was your body but I guess it was Cassie's and I picked up the neckless" I said , grabbing my back pack and pulling the neckless out. I handed the neckless to her as she took with so much love and fragility.

" Tyler , you need to eat , how long has it been since you've eaten"? I asked concerned as well as the others.
She looked down, and answered with guilt in her eyes. " 2 months " . We widen our eyes. " why "? I asked . " because I needed to make sure my sister has a full stomach, , I made a promise to my mom when she was born that no matter what I'll look out for her , that'd she come first." She said , fiddling with her fingers. " you could've at least ate a little bit" I said , getting my backpack. " here ". I said , handing her a can of beans. " oh no, I don't -" " Tyler just take it, you need it more than us now eat it" I said , as she took the can out of my hands. She mumbled a thank you. " so , what happened to your sister " I said , kinda knowing what happened. It is going to happen eventually for all of us but we had to keep going for as long as we can. " well, when we're were surrounded by those things-" " walkers , we call them walkers so we won't have to say things anymore " I interrupted. " sorry " I said knowing how rude I was for interrupting. " when the walkers surrounded us , I told her when I say run she needed to run. She didn't want to leave me and trust me I would feel the same. I lied to her saying I would be ok when I knew I wasn't strong enough. I just... I just wanted her to get out before she got killed. I'd rather me die first then breaking my mothers promise and live in regret. " she said , tears going down her face. I put my hand on top of hers , giving her my condolence. " we're sorry Tyler we didn't -" it's fine , can we try to find her at least please". She said , eyes glazed over. " of course" I said , as well as the others nodding there heads. They knew the condition she was in so we had no point in arguing. "We'll leave first thing in the morning, ok ". I said , as she nodded her head. " it's time for some rest guys , let's get our stuff and hit the hay ". I said as we all got up. " Tyler , I wanted to know when you get stable enough maybe you can teach us some techniques and stuff to be more safer out there"? I asked . She nodded in response , knowing how tired she was I got in my sleeping bag and the lights went out.
' I'm just glad everything's ok now... No matter what I'll make sure your ok Tyler , I'll try and fix you ... I promise ' I thought.and fell into a deep sleep that we haven't had in a long time.

Alright guys it's been awhile but I needed some time cause of school. Hopefully once we get out of school for Christmas break I will update more.
