Falling apart

~ flashback ~
Tyler's POV
I ran to the room that my little sister ( hopefully ) is in. I ran in , looking around frantically. " Christan "! I shouted , looking in the bottom cabinets. " Christan "! I shout again , just little hope in my voice. After a few seconds I gave up, sliding down the wall crying. " I'm sorry ". I whispered to myself , knowing if I had come early enough she wouldn't be dead. " Ty "? I heard a small voice say from the side of me. " Christan "? I said as a question as I stood up from the floor " Ty "! Christan exclaimed, running out of the supply closet. I sprinted towards her , and lifted her into my arms when she jumped in my arms to give her famous bear hug. " oh Christan, I thought I lost you ". I said , as a tear rolled down my face. I set her down and wiped her tears away. " everything's going to be alright , just stay close to me and don't wonder off without me knowing , lets go " I said grabbing onto her hand and pulling her towards the door ,trying to make it in time to Kaylen and the others. " WAIT "! Christan exclaimed , letting go of my hand. " what is it "? I asked. " can my friend come. She helped me get to safety in that closet , so can she come with us "? Christan said , as a girl my age walked out of the closet. " wait , Cassie "? , I said , knowing exactly who she was. She was in my class , a very quiet one. " Tyler "? She said , taking a step forward to see if I was real. " ok , you can come , you saved my sister ". I said smiling at her. She smiled back , but it didn't last forever. Her smile faded , making me furrow my eyebrows in confusion. She pushed Christan and I towards the supply closet that had a concrete wall blocking our way. Before I could even think , an explosion happened. Bright light flashing in an instant, as I hovered over my sister for her protection. I looked to see if the close was clear. There was a huge hole in the wall , and everything ( kinda ) was destroyed. I coughed from the smoke coming from the fire that started in the room. I touched my neck to hold onto my lucky necklace that Kaylen gave me when we became best friends, but it was gone. I frantically touched my neck all over trying to make sure I wasn't going crazy. When I knew I wasn't I looked panicked around for it . " TYLER WE HAVE TO GO "! Christan said over the flames dancing . I grabbed her hand and left through the hole. Leaving the only memory of my best friend and a girl who saved our lives to sacrifice hers behind.

That was 2 months ago. We've been on the move , trying to find my friends , but there was no sign of them at all, no hope . The sun beamed on us as we walked through the woods. I've lost a lot of weight , Christan she has maintained some of hers. I've been taking care of her , any food and water or clothes we find I give it all to my sister. She needs it more than I do. I can go with out clothes and food for a while .shes only 7 years old , and I'm 14 , she has to come first no matter the cost. " Tyler "? Christan said , like it were supposed to be a question. " yeah ". I said , bending down to her height and looking at her beautiful emerald eyes . Gosh she looks so much like out mom. " why don't you eat "? She asked innocently. " so there's enough for you, you need it more then I do hon ". I replied kindly . " but why "? She said tilting her head a bit. " because you get people come first ". I said sweetly , standing back up normally. We walked for what seemed like hours. We took breaks every 20 minutes cause I get tired easily now. Guess form lack of food. We stopped for the 10th time . As 8 minutes go by , we heard rustling sounds around us. I remembered about the rules that I have followed ever since we left the school building. ' stay armed at all times ' . I stood up , and pulled my knife out , while I pushed Christan behind me. It was those monsters, it came out stumbling a bit from the over grown plants. It's jaw was crooked , yellow beady eyes staring at us hungrily. Its skin was falling apart as well as its clothes. It tried grabbing onto me but it didn't even have a chance. I pushed it away from me a bit , making sure it doesn't scratch me. I stabbed it from under its chin and the knife went through the head. Once it stopped struggling and moving around. I pulled the knife out , letting the monster hit the ground. ' so this is what I've become ' i said in my head as I stared down at it. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the most bloody curdling scream ever to be heard. I knew it was Christan . I turned around and saw 13 of those monsters. I could only kill 4 of them , I can't do 13 at a time. " Christan "! I shouted , sprinting to her while picking her up. I ran with Christan in my arms. I couldn't run as fast but it was enough for those things to be far behind a bit. And I wasn't gonna risk Christan's life. As I was running , I tripped over a log and fell. Sending me and Christan to the ground. I saw Christan get up so I rolled over. We got up . We were on this hill thing so it would take awhile for them to get up here but doesn't mean they won't . I took my knife out , and gave it to Christan. I kneeled down and said sternly . " look at me ok , when I tell you to run , you run , as fast as you can and find somewheres those things won't find you or see you. I thought you everything and you know the rules , so I expect you to stick with them , ok ". I said getting back up . " but what about you "? Christan asked , tears welling up in her eyes. " I'll be fine " I lied , knowing that I'm too weak and not stable enough to fight all of them. " if you hear a gun shot , that means your going through this without me ok, your strong enough I know it . " I said crying, looking at her one last time. She hugged me tightly as I did the same. " I love you Ty ". Christan said , crying. " I love you more ". I said , hugging her closer , knowing this is my last time I'll ever see her and get her famous bear hugs. I grabbed my spare knife, and stabbed the one that was closer to me. As the second one came at me , I held it by its chest and said " CHRISTAN , RUN NOW "! I yelled . She looked one last time at me before running off until I could no longer see her. I pushed the thing and stabbed it once it's body hit the tree. I stepped back , as I did this I stepped in a pot hole and twisted my ankle, sending me to the ground. Before I could get back up, the thing fell on top of me. I held it up away from me as long as I could. I took my gun out and shot the remaining ones that were about to do a dog pile on top of each other on me. Once I got the last one that was on the side of me I ran out of bullets to kill the one on top of me. ' shit ' I muttered , throwing it to the side. I looked around and saw the knife on the side of me. My vision started to become blurry . I was getting weaker and weaker from lack of sleep and food. I held it up as long as I could until a gun fire went of , shooting the monster on top of me. I let it fall on me, to weak to even move. My vision was going from clear to blurry .The thing was removed off of me, and the last thing I saw, I must be hallucinating cause I saw them hovering over me saying the following before I blacked out; " Tyler , it's me Kaylen were getting you out of here , stay with me Tyler , stay with me "!
