Their Forbidden Love

She lays under the stars late at night
With little hope that one day he might
Return to her so their love can reignite
So far the only place he has come to her is in dreams
Her eyes start to close as she drifts to sleep
Once again he came to her, only this time he had changed
His eyes were bright red once again
His teeth were out like the time they first met
She tried to reach for him but he backed away
He looked at her with a warning meant to go away
But she reached again with her hand outstretched
He caught it and held it for a moment before
Releasing her and telling her goodbye

She awoke from what she had thought was a dream
To find him laying next to her, watching her sleep
He was as happy to see her as she was him
Until the flashing of a light was seen in the distance
They began to run once again.
