Chapter 2

Lunch had finally arrived. Usually the morning lessons aren't so bad, but today I felt as if time was purposely dragging to taunt me.

I stroll into the cafeteria and immediately my arm gets pulled to the lunch queue. "I have major breakthrough to tell you." Massey says looking around to se if anyone was listening and then faces me.

"You've got tickets to Justin beiber concert?" I say excitingly.

"I wish, something close to that?"

"You've got concert to see Ed sheering." I guess and also get that one wrong.

"Your hopeless at guessing, let me just tell you. My history teacher assigned me and Cole to be partners." She says happily.

"And how is this close to going to a concert?" I ask picking up a green apple and placing it on my tray.

"It's not but you know how I feel about-" she looks around again and lowers her voice "-Cole."

Cole is one of Massey's crush. Since the day he found her lost dog in middle school, she's had this hopeless crush on him. She's experienced many crushes on guys but I would say Cole is more than a crush. Of course she would deny it and say his like all the other guys she likes.

"So what are you assigned to do in the project?" I ask as we pay for our food and leave the queue.

"Well, er, I wasn't actually paying attention in class." She admits.

Like it was some sort of fate, Cope joined us as we sat on a table, "Hello gorgeous." he says giving a charming smile towards my direction and then faces Massey with a causal nod "-and Massey."

She glares at his disinterest towards her "Did you hear something just now Rose?" She asks pretending she didn't even notice Coles presence.

Massey and Cole have a love/hate relationship. Since they've known each other they both get on each others nerves. I don't know exactly what happened for them to be like that but it's really hilarious watching Massey act not interested in front of Cole but once his gone she gushes like a water sprinkler.

Now, I'm no Cupid but I think Cope feels the same towards Massey. I mean despite the lame flirt lines he uses on me in front of Massey, he always seems to care what Massey says.

"Hey Cole." I greet, "I heard you and M are history partners." I say starting the conversation whisper taking my sandwich and taking a bite.

"My worst of luck." He signs sadly, "ow-" he complains as I Massey hits his leg.

"Oh Cole, didn't see you there." She says innocently giving a sweet smile to play it off. I shake my head at them as he starts complaining about the heel she hit him with.

"Stop being such a baby." She says taking a sip from her Coke. "Now about the project, where should we do it?"

"We just got it today, no need to rush." He says taking my other sandwich and eating it. Cole isn't really my childhood friend or close friend but with Massey around, it seems as if we're close. He always that's the other half of my sandwich which of course I don't mind.

"I want to finish it as soon as possible, so I don't have to be with you more than necessary."

"Your mouth might say one thing I bag but your eyes say another." He says winking at her.

"If you guys are going to have a lovers quarrel, take it somewhere else." I say getting slightly flushed Massey.

"We can start it off at my house." Cole says going back to topic.
