Short Chapter

***

With the sun shining down on me, I walk up to the Mojo Dojo. The grass outside looks so green against the deep reds and golds of the dojo.

"Echo, you there?" I call out, approaching the room we've been meeting in.

As I enter the training room, I see a group of the shadow people I encountered earlier beating up Echo.

"Hey!" I yell, just as they jump into another dimension.

I notice text on the writing board.

Jumper,
They're coming for me. They're taking me away, and are most likely changing me to be like them. I don't know where they're taking me. You have to figure it out, read the signs. This was going to be your next lesson, now you have to figure it out for yourself.
Good luck,
Echo.

"No, no, no!" I shout.

I remember to think back, read the signs, as Echo wrote.

"Right. Concentrate and think back."

"Whoa, this is freaky."

I can't see myself anywhere, so I must have already left.

"We-e c-can't ca-atch him. He's too f-fa-ast. We mus-st get his t-trai-n-ner," said the shadow person.

"We must-t t-take him t-to the Death Dim-mens-sion," said the other one.

The Present

"Death Dimension. Time to go."

Poof.

"Oh yuck! This is disgus-"

"Let go of me!" Echo's voice interrupts my train of thought.

I turn towards the source of the voice and see the group if shadow people grabbing Echo.

"Echo!"

I run toward the struggle and swing my fist at one of the figure's head. My arm goes straight through.

"Oh shit."

A hissing sound erupts from it and I duck as it swipes at me with it's arm.

Echo wrenches his arm free from the one I distracted and drops to the ground with me.

"Lets's go," he says.

I grab his arm and jump us back to the dojo.

"Gee, that was close," Echo says. "Thanks Jumper."

"It was no problem at all," I say.

"I need to just be alone. Calm down."

"I understand," I say. " I have to get home anyway."

"See you soon."

"Yeah. Bye."

I jump to my front door and walk into the house.

As soon as I walk through the door my mum is pestering me.

I just ignore her and walk straight up the stairs, heading for my room.

"Jumper. Jumper. Jack! Get down here right now!"

I stop suddenly and slowly turn around...
