Saturday
"So, how can you help me learn to... hmm..." I ponder, "Jump."
I look around at the dojo we are currently standing in.
"I can help you because I used to be able to jump between dimensions,"
says Echo in a deep voice."So I can jump between dimensions...? Cool," I smile, "But I don't know how to jump."
"I'll teach you, but you need to be patient and helpful."
"OK. But why helpful?" I question, confused.
"You need to be helpful because you can only jump when your helping others. When you help others you can learn to control your jumping."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get started," I say impatiently.
"It's not that easy, Jumper. You have clear your mind of everything and just think of the one thing that makes you happy," Echo says.
"Well, my dad always made me laugh."
I remember when dad told me silly jokes when I was young, and silently laugh.Poof.
"Whoa."
"Ow, ow, ow," I complain, hopping from foot to foot. "It's so hot and boiling."
I look around me and see the smoking remains of a mountain side.
"Wow, I did it," I say, ecstatic. "Ow! Get off me you... you lava worm."
A small dog-sized burning hot worm climbs up my leg.
"Whoa," I breathe. "I'm controlling them...."
The other worms around me stop heading towards me, and the one on my leg become slightly cooler to the touch.
"Wraaack."
A defending screech cuts through the air as a jeep-sized worm appears through the think ash hovering in the air around me.
"I don't think can control you, so... bye." I cheerily wave at the creature before turning on my heal and running.
As I run, I can hear the burning adult fire-worm slithering along behind me, doing much better then me crossing the burnt marshmallow-like ground.
I look down at my leg and see the youngling still on my leg.
"Hey! Get off."
Another screech cuts through the air.
"Never mind," I say. "Now, how do I get back home again? Oh, that's right! Think about my dad."
Poof.
"Whoa."
"Nice first first try," Echo says. "Mee- Wait! Did you bring home a fire-worm?"
"What? He's nice. Besides, I can control..." I think of a name. "Burner."
"What? You named him? Anyway, meet me here next Saturday."
"But I've only been here five minutes," I complain.
"When you jump it takes us an hour, but to you it only feels like thirty seconds."
"That's weird. Anyway gotta get home before mum worries. Bye."
I wave to Echo and leave as he says goodbye.
"Bye," he says.
