*Riker's POV*
"Oh, Riker you're home. Oh, uh.. I thought you were going to bring that girl home again." Mom said as I walked in.
"I was hoping to. She said she'd come, but then Courtney Eaton ordered her to go shopping with her. That's right, ordered. Not asked, ordered." I said and let out a loud sigh as I slumped onto the couch.
"Courtney Eaton? Isn't she that very pretty girl that Ross is dating?" Mom asked and I shook my head.
"Was dating. Anyways, she's the most popular girl in school and expects everyone to do everything she wants. I'm not quite sure what she's up to.."

*the next day, at school, Riker's POV*Now I know what she's up to.. Courtney's always had a little.. Minion, you could say. Someone who was almost as popular as she was and did everything with her and for her. The last minion left, so she needed a new one. She saw my new friend as the perfect victim. I leaned against my locker and watched Rydel walk in with Courtney. Rydel's look had completely changed. She used to wear t-shirts and jeans with boots. She was now wearing a tight red dress that showed her figure perfectly, a pair of wedges, and a necklace. Her hair was in a up do, and her makeup was done. Just the type of thing Courtney would wear. I'm already not liking this.
Instead of her normal, clumsy walk that I had pretty much memorized within three days, she was walking confidently, and strangely enough, she wasn't even tripping.. even in the heels.
"Hey, Rydel." I said as she passed by me.
"Hi, Ri-"
"Don't talk to him. Come." Courtney said quietly and motioned for her to follow her.
"Re-jec-ted!" Ross said and slapped my back after coming up behind me. "Oh, what was that about laying off? She's the new girl and doesn't need anyone bothering her? She needs someone to protect her? I think she's quite confident now. Seems like she doesn't need you now. Byeeee." Ross said and walked away.
"What the fu-"
"HEYYYY RIKER! WHATITDO, KANGAROO?" Ellington said as he stood next to me.
"I'm so confused." I said and grabbed my books before walking to Spanish class.
"Wow. I suspected you wouldn't be in here." I said when I saw Rydel.
"Oh?" She said and looked over at me without looking up from her black painted nails. I could see her light brown eyes through her false lashes, looking up at me. "And why is that?"
"I don't know. I just.. You were-"
"I'm not supposed to be talking to you, Riker." Rydel said and sighed.
"Why not?" I asked.
"Long story." She replied.
"Well, if you can't talk at school, you can later, right? Want to come to my house after school?" I said and she shook her head.
"I'm busy." She said.
"With what?" I asked.
"Stop making this harder than it already is, Riker. I really like you. You're really sweet, but I'm not supposed to even talk to you. So just.. Back off." She said and slammed her hands against the desk.
"Okay, what the fu-"
"Riker! What were you just about to say?"
Now the teacher was mad.
"I.. Uh.."
"That's what I thought. You'll have detention after school."
