*Rydel's POV*
"So.. Where did you go before here?" Riker asked as we sat at a table.
"Uh.. Well... I was homeschooled." I said as I played with my food a bit.
"Oh. That's cool." He said and put a bite of food in his mouth.
"Who's that guy?" I asked and pointed toward the guy sitting at a tree alone.
"Huh? Oh, that's Rocky. He avoids everyone. He's a bit shy." He said and nodded.
"Hi guys!" A guy said as he sat down.
"Um, hi." I replied.
"Oh hey Ell. This is Rydel." Riker said, looking at the guy who just approached the table.
"Hi, Rydel. I'm Ellington. Do you like moustaches?" He said before sitting across from me.
"Uhh.. Sure?" I said, unsure of what really to say. I opened my can of coke and took a sip. Another guy approached the table and say by Ellington. He didn't say anything, he just waved.
"That's Ryland." Riker whispered to me. I nodded and smiled.
"Hi, Ryland. I'm Rydel." I said and he just nodded.
"Shy?" I asked and Riker nodded.
"I know this is weird and all.. But so you want to come to my house after school?" Riker said and I shrugged.
"Sure. I'd love to." I said as we all finished eating. After a while, the bell rang and we all went to class.

*As school lets out, Rydel's POV*
"Alright, you can just get in the car with me if you'd like. Ross rides with Ellington." Riker said as we walked to the parking lot. I had already let my mom know that I was going to a friends house after school, and she was fine with it.
"Oh. Ellington is your brother as well?" I asked as we got in his car.
"Nah." He answered and I giggled.
"Nah? What kind of answer is that?" I asked and he shrugged as he began to drive.
"Just a way of saying no. Anyway, Ell isn't exactly my brother. He's a great friend. Sorry he seemed a bit dorky, he kinda is a dork. But it's fine, he really is cool." He said as we pulled up at a house, I'm assuming it was his. There was already two vehicles there, so I'm assuming one was his parents, and one was Ellington's. I smiled and observed everything as we walked in the house.
"Hey, mom. This is Rydel." Riker said and reached his arm towards me. He put his arm slightly around my waist only to push me forward.
"Hi, Mrs Lynch. I'm Rydel." I said and she smiled.
"Just call me Stormie." She said sweetly and shook my hand.
"Ross! Rocky! Ryland! And... Also Ell! Come meet Rydel." She yelled and Riker laughed.
"They kinda already did.. Except for Rocky." Riker said and Stormie shrugged.
"Oh well. I imagine they're upstairs playing the wii or the x-box. Would you mind taking her upstairs and y'all can chat?" Stormie said and Riker nodded.
"Come on." He said and wrapped his arm slightly around my waist again, leading me upstairs. Once we got upstairs, we walked into a huge room. I'm guessing it's a man cave type thing, but I don't mind it, it is a bit cool.
"Dude! You made mess up!" Ross yelled to Ryland.
"Guys." Riker said, trying to get their attention.
"I did not!" Ryland says and Ross made a face at him.
"Guys.." Riker repeated.
"You're the one who cheated." Ross said and Ryland growled.
"Guys!" Riker shouted, but once again they're ignoring him.
"I didn't cheat." Ryland protested. Finally, Riker told me to plug my ears, stood on a chair, and literally screamed as if there was a snake in the room or something. Suddenly, everyone snapped their heads in his direction and he got off the chair.
"I know most of you have met her, but this is Rydel." Riker said and pointed at me.
"You talk." I said to Ryland and he laughed nervously.
"Technically, he was yelling. But, yes, he does talk." Riker said.
"You're still avoiding people." I said to Rocky as he tried to leave the room. He stopped, looked at me for a few seconds, then walked out.
"You're still a dork." I said to Ellington and he smiled.
"Thanks." He said and I laughed softly. I turned my head and saw Ross who has been glaring evilly at me ever since I walked in.
"And you- you're still a dick." I said then turned around to walk away.
"You're still a bitch. By the way, did you think our behaviour would change just because we're not at school? Wow, you're stupid." He said and snickered before leaving the room.
"Jerk!" Riker yelled.
"Suppers ready!" Stormie yelled and we went downstairs and ate. After we finished, I helped her with the dishes and stuff.
"You didn't have to help, sweetie." Stormie said as I put a few dishes in the sink.
"No, it's fine." I said. As I finished, I looked through the small window type opening that allowed you to look into the living room from the kitchen, to see Riker playing guitar. I knew I had heard someone singing quietly and playing guitar but I didn't know who. I thought the rest of the guys went upstairs but I wasn't sure. I was right, they did.
"How bout you go join him? I've got it from here." Stormie said and I nodded.
"Thanks, Mrs Lynch." I said and she smiled.
"What did I say? Don't call me Mrs Lynch. Just call me Stormie." She said and laughed. I slowly walked into the living room and sat across from Riker. He didn't notice I had even walked in, he was still playing his guitar. Immediately, I noticed the song he had just started to play, so I started to sing along. I know he heard me, because I saw him look up without lifting his head, I could see him looking up because I could see his dark brown eyes look up through his light blonde fringe. Also, he had a grin on his face. I don't think he wanted me to know that he knew I was in there though. After a while we finished the song and he finally actually looked up from his guitar.
"You have a wonderful voice." He said and smiled.
"Alright, Lynch fam! Time to do homework! Same for you, Rydel." Stormie said as she walked in. I was surprised she was telling me to do mine too, but I decided to do as she said. Everyone went upstairs, but I stayed downstairs and did my homework. I eventually fell asleep right as I finished my homework. After a while I heard whispering. I was still asleep, but, I could hear and understand what they were saying.
"Take the pen out of her hand, pick her up, put her on the couch with a blanket and pillow. Please." Stormie whispered.
"Alright." Riker whispered then picked me up. He soon place me on the couch and I fell deeper into sleep.
