*Rydels POV*
As I woke up, I yawned, then stretched a bit. As I stretched my legs out, I fell out of my bed.. Or I thought it was my bed.
"Ow.." I whined and slowly opened my eyes. I looked around and realised, I definitely wasn't home. I must have fallen asleep at Rikers house.
Suddenly I heard footsteps come towards the living room.
"You alright? I heard a loud noise like someone fell." Riker said as he walked in.
"I'm fine. I guess I fell off the couch." I said as he held his hand out toward me.
"Sorry about that. Well anyway, it's time to get ready for school." He said and helped me up.
"Alright. Can we stop by my house so I can change real quick?" I asked and he shook his head.
"We don't have time. You can just borrow some of my clothes I guess.. Sorry we don't have any girl clothes." He said and I nodded.
"It's fine. As long as I change clothes." I said and he nodded.
"Come on." He said and grabbed my wrist. He led me upstairs and into his room.
"Choose whatever you want, I gotta go downstairs real quick." He said before leaving his room. I slowly walked toward his closet and grabbed one of his shirts and a pair of jeans and quickly changed. I walked downstairs and into the living room.
"Oh there you are. Ready to go?" Riker asked as he got off the couch.
"Yeah. Let's go." I said and walked toward the door.
"Here's your backpack." He said and tossed my backpack to me.
"Thanks." I said and slung it over my shoulder.
"Alright." He said as we got in his car. He drove to school and we walked in.
"Oh look. It's miss wanna-be Barbie again." Ross said in a mocking tone.
"I thought I told you to lay off." Riker said and Ross rolled his eyes.
"You said that she is new so I should lay off. Well, that was yesterday. So now she isn't new. I don't have to lay off." He said and Riker shook his head in disappointment.
"Just ignore him." Riker said as we walked to class.
"Today's gonna be a long day.." I muttered as I leaned my head on the desk. We were early, so we were pretty much the only people in the room, but we wanted to get away from Ross.
Suddenly my phone started ringing, and I reached into my pocket to get it.
"Hey?" I answered.
"Where have you been? I thought you said that you were going to a friends house and you'd be back by 9." My mom said worriedly.
"Yeah, I thought so too. Don't worry mom, I had dinner and did my homework, but I must have fallen asleep. I was gonna come by this morning, but I woke up late and had to go." I explained and my mom sighed.
"Alright. If you go over there today, tell your friend to grab your phone and let me know if it happens again. Okay? Because I don't want to worry." Mom said and I nodded as if she could see me.
"Okay. Gotta go. The teachers about to come in." I said before hanging up.
*After school, Rydel's POV*
"So, are you coming over again today?" Riker asked me and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Yeah, sure. I think I should stop by my house first though." I said and Riker smiled a bit.
"Sure. Do you need a-"
"Hey, let's go shopping." A brunette girl says as she approached me.
"Uh, I was actually going to-"
"I said; let's go shopping. When Courtney Eaton asks you to do something, you do it." The girl said and I glared at her, then glared at Riker.
"Go on. I don't care. We'll catch up tomorrow, yeah?" Riker said and I sighed.
"Oh. Okay." I said and smiled and followed the girl to her car.
Riker had told me about this girl at lunch. Apparently she was the most popular girl in school, and she wasn't normally very nice to many people.
"If you wore clothes that were actually flattering, maybe you would be a little bit pretty." She said and I faked a smile.
Was that supposed to be a compliment?
"Oh, uh. Thanks?" I said and shrugged my shoulders.
"I'll teach you everything I know. I could be your mentor. It'll be fun." She said and started to drive.
"What will?" I asked.
"Teaching you how to be cool." She replied.
"Oh." Was all I could say.
"I'll buy you some new clothes.. Some that are actually cute. Then, I will teach you everything I know about being cool. I'll even tell you who to talk to, and who not to talk to." She said.
Somehow, I had a feeling this would end badly..
