*Rydel's POV*
"Do I have to?" I asked as my mom shoved me out the door.
"Yes." She said as we walked out to her car. I sighed as I got in.
As she got in, I turned to face her. I could see I wasn't the only one who was disappointed, she was too.
"Mom, I really don't think this is fair. Please." I said as she started up the car.
"Rydel, I'm sorry, honey. I just can't keep homeschooling you." She said as she drove towards the high school.
"Mom, I'm not going to fit in, I'm not going to know how to act or know what to do. I've been homeschooled my whole life, and now that I'm 16, you put me in school!" I said and frowned.
"I'm sorry honey." She said as we pulled into the parking lot.
"Bye.." I said and got out. As I walked toward the door, I let out a deep, nervous sigh.
"It's ok, Rydel. You can make it. This is just the first day of the school year, and everything will be fine. Just because you haven't ever gone to a real school, doesn't mean you can't make friends..right?" I said to myself as I reached the doors. Not paying attention to where I was going, I ran into the door, causing me to collapse.
"Are.. Are you okay?" I heard a voice say with a slight laugh as the boy reached his hand out to help me up.
"I'm.. I'm fine.." I said and let out a small nervous laugh as he helped me up.
"Are you sure? You took quite a hit.." He said as I got back on my feet.
"I just wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Anyway, I uh.. I'm new here." I said and pushed a strand of hair behind me ear as he let go of my hand.
"Oh! Well, I could show you around. Uh, I'm Riker." He said and held his hand out. I looked down at his hand and looked back at him. Normally, I shake peoples hands when they do that, but I just wasn't feeling well, so I was distracted.
"You are?" He asked and kinda shook his hand around, waiting for me to respond. I shook my head vigorously to get back to normal, then shook his hand.
"I'm Rydel." I said as I let go.
"Like Rydell High?" He said and I nodded.
"Yeah. My mom likes the movie Grease so she named me Rydel. But I only have one 'l' in my name." I said as he opened the door.
"So what class do you have first?" He asked and I showed him my schedule.
"Ah. Spanish. You've got Ms. Thomas' class. Come on." He said and motioned for me to follow him. I followed him until we reached a class room and walked in.
"Don't you have to get to class?" I asked curiously as I raised my eyebrow.
"Already there." He said with a half smile. I managed to smile as well. Suddenly I heard a loud blunder on the desk that I sat down at. I slowly turned my head until I saw a tall blonde standing there, leaning down with an evil expression on his face.
"Move." He said in a gruff voice.
"Hey back off, man. She's new here." Riker said and the boy laughed.
"Get out of my seat, blondie." He demanded.
"I said.. BACK OFF... Ross." Riker shouted and the boy, apparently named Ross, stared at Riker. Suddenly, I realised I similarity in their faces.
"Wait.. Are you two.." I started to say, amazed.
"Brothers." They said in unison, staring at each other with a mad expression on their faces.
Suddenly, the bell rang, and Ross finally decided to sit in another seat.
