I woke up to the smell of Vigan Longganisa that Tito Allan was probably cooking in the kitchen. I was about to go down when I suddenly remembered that Patty was supposed to arrive today. I hurriedly check my phone for updates from her.
2 Missed Calls from Patty
7 Text Messages from PattyI didn't bother looking at her texts so I called her back instead. She answered after the 5th ring. Her voice sounded sleepy.
"What time ka pupunta dito?" I asked her in excitement.
"Huh? Di mo nakita texts ko? Mamayang hapon, may gagawin pa daw kasi si dad, eh. Uso mag-check ng phone," she chuckled.
"Sorry, napagod kasi ako kahapon ang aga ko nakatulog."
"Oh em! Speaking of kahapon... Ano nangyari sa inyo ni RJ?" She giggled.
I told her the whole story without hesitation because I trust her with everything about my life. We stayed on the line for about 30 more minutes until Tito Allan called me for breakfast.
"I have to meet RJ!" She exclaimed.
"Oo na, when you get here. Bilisan mo, ha!"
"Sana may ganyan din kaming moments ni Sam," she giggled.
"Yuck! Sure ka hanggang ngayon gusto mo pa rin 'yung pinsan ko?"
"Well, childhood crush ko siya so I'm excited to see him again after all these years," I can feel her smile even if she was on the other line.
"Move on na, girl," I joked.
She laughed. "Well, basta, all I can say is I'm excited to meet him again."
I heard my uncle call me and Sam from the dining room downstairs.
"O sige na, pangalawang sigaw na 'yun ni Tito Allan," I laughed. "See you later! Text me, ha."
"Sure, see you later, Maine!"
-----
I didn't do much after breakfast. I just chilled in the living room and plugged in my earphones for a sound trip session.
I informed Tito Allan about Patty coming later in the afternoon and he was fine about it. He said that he will come home early to meet Patty's dad, Tito Jimmy. Sam, on the other hand, protested and asked why she was spending a few weeks here with us. It's obvious that he was still avoiding my friend even after so long.
"Ang sabi ko, anong gusto mong lunch," Sam removed my earphones.
"Wow, ang bastos natin, ah," I answered.
"Hindi mo kasi ako sinasagot, eh. Kanina pa kaya kita tinatanong."
"Uhm, hello," I raised my earphones.
"Kaya nga tinanggal ko." He paused. "So ano nga gusto mo?" He was texting someone.
"Kahit ano. Bili na lang tayo para 'di na magluto?" I suggested.
"Sige, saan mo gusto?" Still paying attention on his phone.
"Kahit saan, ikaw na bahala."
