Good morning, Mainie Mouse! Hope you have a good day today ☺️ btw, picnic brunch when you wake up, yes?

It was the first message that greeted her the moment she opened her eyes. A small curve filled her lips as she stretched her arms and sat up straight on her bed.

Just woke up! Good morning! 😊

She replied back. Then she went straight to take a bath and prepare for brunch.

What a heavy sleeper you are! Kanina pa ko naghihintay ng reply mo :p ready whenever you're ready!

A smile formed from her lips once again. It's one of those good mornings that you have when you've had a long good night's sleep, a cute good morning text, and a picnic waiting for you. Couldn't this day get any perfect? And it was still 10 in the morning.

The moment she got downstairs, she heard two voices talking in the living room.

"Kung pwede lang po sana--- ayan na po pala siya, eh!"

The two people talking looked her way and stopped their conversation. It was her Tito Allan and Baste. Great.

"Gising ka na pala, Meng. Kain ka muna," Tito Allan said.

"Good morning, Mengmeng!" Baste stood up walked towards her.

She just politely smiled and avoided what seemed like an incoming hug. "Alis po ako, Tito."

"Saan ka pupunta? Kumain ka muna ng almusal."

"Oo nga, Mengmeng. Saan punta mo?"

Without looking Baste's direction, she replied to her uncle, "Kakain po kami ng brunch ni RJ. Nakahanda na po kasi."

"Ah, sige. Si Sam, isasama niyo ba?"

"Tulog pa po yata, eh. Hindi po siguro." She made an excuse.

"Teka, anong oras ka babalik, Meng?" Baste butted in.

She was surprised at what she heard and looked his way. "Uh... Hindi ko pa alam. Bakit?"

"Pinagpaalam na kasi kita kay tito mo." He looked all giddy while talking to her.

"Huh?"

"50th birthday ni Mama sa Huwebes, may handaan kami sa bahay. Pinaalam ko na kung pwede kang mag-overnight sa amin."

Without having second thoughts, she faced her Tito Allan with a dumbfounded look.

Tito Allan stood up from where he was sitted, "'Yun na nga ang pinag-uusapan namin kung bakit kailangang mag-overnight pa."

"Oo nga. Bakit kailangan mag-overnight pa, Baste?"

"Hmm... Sige na nga, sasabihin ko na pero sikreto lang, ha? Birthday salubong kasi talaga 'yun, kaya pagpatak ng alas dose ng hatinggabi, magpapaputok kami. At tuloy pa rin ang kasiyahan!"

"Birthday salubong para sa 50th birthday?"

"Alam mo naman si Mama, pa-bagets din 'yun. Ayaw niyang nahuhuli." Baste chuckled.
