A/N: FINALLY HERE! Sorry guys!!! ~ WorshipStew
(Edward's P.O.V)
We'd been pacing for what seemed like hours before Carlisle finally got a call back from Renée.
"Renée? How's Bella? Have you found her?" He rushed into the receiver.
There was a pause and I could faintly her Renée's worried tone almost yelling back. I watched Carlisle's face contort with horror. I felt fear fill my whole body and I felt like I was about to breakdown. Something bad has happened to Bella. My Bella.
"Okay, stay calm, I'll be right over." Carlisle murmured before cutting off the phone.
Carlisle met eye contact with me immediately. He was calm but I could see the fear in his eyes which I was sure reflected my own.
"Bella needs help," Carlisle murmured, trying to keep his voice calm but I could hear the slight panic in his tone.
"What's happened to her?" I blurted out, desperate to know if she was okay.
He didn't answer me. Instead his eyes, filled with fear and pain, looked away from mine. He grabbed his coat and muttered "I need to go," as he pulled open the door and hurried out to his car.
I stared after him, flabbergasted; fear spiking in my chest. My heart was beating frantically. My head was wondering what happened to Bella. Esme stared after Carlisle. I could see the fear in her own eyes, in all our eyes.
I started pacing rapidly, worried sick. I kept muttering. "My Bella, my beautiful Bella," over and over. Carlisle had infuriated me. He was rarely ever phased by anything; and to see him like that, so scared, and to not say anything to us, made me mad.
It was only when it had been 15 minutes with no word from Carlisle, when I couldn't take it anymore. I stopped pacing, and walked over to the sofa, sat down, and put my head in my hands.
It wasn't long before felt a reassuring pat on my shoulder and Esme's soothing words. I could feel Alice sitting at my side, her arm draped over me. I don't know how long we stayed like that, it felt like hours. I didn't dare move. I kept my head in my hands, praying that Bella would be okay.
It was only when we heard the crunch of gravel and the gentle purr of the car engine did we finally move. I've never moved so fast in my life, my head shot up and I rushed to the door. However, the sight that greeted me was far from what I was praying for. I took one look at Bella and gasped im shock, the pain in my heart enough to paralyse me.
She was draped over Carlisle's arms, and from what I could see, she was unconscious. She looked awful. Her beautiful face and exposed skin, bruised. I wanted to know what happened to her. I wanted to hold her in my arms and protect her from what ever caused her this pain. My vision was blurry, hazed over from tears. I wasn't even aware that I started crying. None of us knew what was happening, we were all shocked at Bella's state.
Carlisle stumbled in, holding Bella tightly as she flopped, limp in his arms. "Excuse me." He murmured, carrying Bella straight up stairs. I could tell from the look in Carlisle's eyes that Bella was in danger, and that he was in great pain.
I followed hastily as Esme told the others to stay put. She didn't stop me though, I don't know if it was because she knew that I needed to see Bella, or maybe she knew I wouldn't listen if she told me to stay. I followed as Carlisle took her into the room with his medical things in. He placed her on the hospital bed and looked at me, fear in eyes.
"Edward, you shouldn't be here." He said.
"I don't care." I muttered, sniffing, still staring at Bella, her body limp as she lay not moving on the hospital bed. Carlisle didn't argue. He set to work inserting a tube into her arm, he was sucking something from her bloodstream.
