'Beep!' 'Beep!' 'Beep!'

I smacked the alarm off. School. Who could be bothered for school? I don't understand why it needed to start so early. More students would be willing to go if it started later. But then I remembered. Bella. It was Bella's first day of school here in Forks High.

I quickly scrambled out of bed, stumbling on something soft. "Shit!" I muttered, finding my way to my curtains to let the light in through the huge windows. I felt around for the soft fabric and ripped them open, the light that flooded in stung my eyes but lit up the whole room. Using the newly found light, I started to get dressed, fumbling for clothes in my draws. I put on a light shirt, and dark jeans. I hurried to the bathroom to fix my hair and have a morning wash.

I was driving to school in my Volvo, excited to see Bella again. I was being honest when I told her that her return to here was the best thing that ever happened to me in a long time. I remember when we were kids. We'd play in the long grass of my garden and she'd not leave back for Renée's for hours. That was before Phil came. She stopped seeing Renée when he moved in. She told me Phil didn't seem to want here there now that she's back, but I just think he's not used to company. He's been living with just him and Renée for 5 years. I felt sorry for Bella though, she must feel a litte unwanted. I pondered whether or not to pick her up, but then I didn't want to come across as too eager to see her and I knew she'd want to try her new truck that she'd told me about.

When I pulled up into the parking lot, I looked about for a truck. I didn't know what Bella's looked like, but I assumed it was the only truck that I hadn't seen before. A smile formed on my lips because then I saw it, it was a red Chevy, the paint was fading but it had character. I pulled into a spot a few spaces away from Bella's truck and got out my car. I walked straight into the reception. There was Bella, she was talking to Miss Cope, the receptionist, and fussing around with some papers.

"That's your time-table for the day, a map to help you get around the school and can you fill in this form and bring it back after school please?" Miss Cope told Bella, handing her another piece of paper. She nodded, taking the paper while trying not to drop the papers that she was holding already. She turned around, instantly spotting me.

"Edward," She smiled. "Good morning." Her smile dropped as the papers nearly fell out of her hands. Her hands flapped around as she tried to stop them falling.

"Morning Bella," I smiled back. "Let me help you with those." I said, taking the papers from her.

She gave me a grateful smile, her beautiful brown eyes twinkling. Her brown hair was loose, falling down her back in gentle waves. She was gorgeous. Even more beautiful than I ever imagined her to be. I tore my gaze away from her face and looked down at her papers again, putting them neatly, before handing them back to her. We sat on a bench outside, the clouds covering the sky, and looked at her time-table.

I analyzed it quietly for a moment, then smiled. "You have English, Biology and Trig with me, that's great. But that leaves you with Government, Spanish and Gym by yourself. Are you gonna be okay?"

She nodded, but looked a little unsure.

"You'll be fine Bella." I tried to give her a reassuring smile. "You won't really need the map either, it's a small school, you'll find your way around."

"Got it. It is a lot smaller than my school was in Phoenix. I hope that helps things." She said, putting the papers in her bag. The bell went, signalling for first period.
