A/N – IMPORTANT!! - I have changed Elora's age from sixteen to seventeen. The story is still the same but I made the characters older because I feel it fits the situation more.

Well this is it. I'm ready. The XM prepared me pretty well and gave me these really cool gadgets and stuff. They gave me this mini laser thing that I've been told not to mess around with, an access card which picks locks, an envelope x-ray spray which can make any solid paper translucent for thirty seconds so I can see the content inside without opening it, and finally an emergency button in case I'm in real trouble and I need backup. Basically they turned me into James Bond. Honestly I don't know why I'm this dressed up, but it's probably because my power isn't very violent and can't physically protect me from danger even though i know martial arts. Although thank God there is a stylist here which gave me the trendiest clothing a seventeen year old girl could ask for. I look in the mirror one last time and see my chestnut hair in a loose braid over one shoulder, a white crop top tucked into a floral blue skirt with white ankle boots and finally my face enhanced by eyeliner, mascara, concealer and blush.

There needed to be someone to drive me to school and because Max is at too much of a risk because he is very well known amongst other organisations, Jim gets to take me to school every day as my "older brother". I walk out the door and get into a silver new Volvo and greet Jim as we pull out of the massive "Work Building" aka the XM. Do you see how many secrets I have to keep already?

"How you feeling? You ready?" Jim asks glancing at me.

"Yeah I guess. I mean honestly all I'm doing is attending a new high school, but I'm feeling so much pressure to find out this other mutant, God I hate calling it that, and I don't even know where to start and w-"

"Woah Elora calm down. You just have to take it easy and think. Just be yourself and act the way you would at any other school, but keep a special eye out. Like Max said, we have suspicions it's a boy so start there. Oh and try not to fall in love with him." He chuckles at the end.

I roll my eyes before saying "Ha ha ha. Very funny".

We continue to have light hearted conversations and I begin to forget all about the ton of weight on my shoulders, up until we slow down as we drive up to the entrance of the school. I look at the massive school and my panic begins to rise again. I see loads of teenagers laughing in groups and I start to wonder if I am going to make any friends, but I guess that's not going to be easy as the new girl in school enrolling randomly three months into the school year.

Jim probably sensed my worry and said, "Elora remember what I said. You have so many gadgets on you so feel completely badass, and don't be afraid to test out your fighting skills cause your really good. Just be yourself and try not to attract too much attention to yourself, ok?" He puts his hand softy on mine to comfort me before I smile at him and get out of the car.

I start walking up the steps to the entrance and hear Jim drive off, looks like I'm on my own from now on. I try to analyse every boy I see and I gotta say some are pretty good-looking, I see jocks, nerds, drama geeks and just your average best friend kinda boy. I walk through the hallway and immediately feel questioning eyes on me, you would think at a school this big, people wouldn't notice but I guess they know who's who and likes to keep tabs on people.

I get to the reception desk and greet friendly looking lady with blond hair.

"Hi my name is Ella Johnson, I'm new and I should be entering my junior year." I say kindly, remembering the name they told me to use.
