Chapter Eleven

xX School is in Xx

Light stormed through the windows of our five poster bedroom, causing me to groan and moan, until finally the light pried my eyes open.

As my sight began to focus, and the sleep world faded away, Gabby’s bright face peered down at me. A smile was stretched wide over her lips, she was already fully prepped for the day, her uniform on, and her hair set up. She had taken her fringe and parted a little bit of it over her eyes and took the rest of her hair and spiked it up around the back.

“Why are you waking me up?” I groaned. “Urgh is it school time already!”

She nodded, running her hands through my hair. “And you better get your but into the shower; you got a lot of work to do. It’s your first day, I’m sure you’ll wanna look impressive for your funeral!”

“Oh Gabby, are you still on about that! Look seriously, Charisa Mayweather is not going to kill me, and can you please stop wincing, her name isn’t like Lord Voldermort—“

“No, she’s worse!”

“Of course, Gabby, of course,” I threw my sheets off, and grumbled, making my way to our joint shower.

Half an hour later and I stepped out of the bathroom fully dressed, my hair still sopping and falling over my face. I buttoned up my blouse and yanked my socks up and joined Gabby in the communal living room. From what I could tell about our living quarters, each group of five got their own little apartment like set up. We all shared a kitchen, but there were two bathrooms and two bedrooms. So Gabby and I elected to take the first bedroom, leaving the other two girls to take the other one.

Sadly, they were already gone when we woke up. It was just me and Gabby, me dripping on the carpet.

“Morning, sleepy-head, or should I say bed head,” She chuckled madly at her own joke.

“Gabby, that made no sense, but I have a question for you,”

“Shoot”

“Bang, I shot ya,” She giggled like she always did. “Why did we get separated into houses?”

“Well every year, Trinity Academy has a sort of internal competition going, each of the houses compete in sports events and academic events, the winning house gets some kick-ass trophy and a big ass street-cred boost,” She answered matter-of-factly, sounding more like a brochure than my best friend.

“Ahhh fun, sports,”

She nodded. “Its compulsory too, even Charisa Mayweather gets involved, and she is awful!!”

“Good to know, good to know,” I lied, I couldn’t care less about Charisa Mayweather or her charmed life, all I cared about was waiting across the meadows, and just passed the quad. All I cared about was the historic English block.

“Oh, I almost forgot,” Gabby cut into my day dream, a piece of paper lying in her flat palm. “Our schedules arrived this morning, you were sleeping so I thought I’d let you be.” She handed me my sheet, and then whispered in my ear. “Just remember your name is Addison, not Chase,”

I nodded. “I got it, don’t worry, I’m sure I can remember my name,”

“Good, good. Soooo what have you got first?”

“Ahhh Philosophy in the A block,” I said, reading the sheet of paper. “But then after Morning tea I have English with Mr. Ridley,”

“Oh, dude, you are so lucky, he is one steaming tall glass of HOT!”
