I walked out of the cave and into the trees. Why did my dad have to be so stupid? Why did I have to be so stupid?

I tug at my hair and just walk. Crunching steps behind me let me know Ashton was trying to follow me. I ducked down under the bushes and watched as he walked by.

"Hello?" He called. Ashton walked past me and kept shouting. "Where are you?" His voice got quieter and quieter.

I crept out of the undergrowth and ran back to my house. I grabbed the thing I knew weren't mine and chucked them into the ocean.

Tattered clothes and a portable basket floated on the salty water. I then gathered some sticks and started a fire. I speared a fish and burned it, praying to Zeus.

"Please, take him back. Let him leave. I'll do anything."

I ended my prayer hoping one of the gods, no matter how minor, heard. I speared another fish and cooked it. I tossed some salt water on it and decided to go look for Hestia.

I walked the opposite way then that Ashton guy and searched for her. I clicked my tongue and listened. Listening for small sounds I stopped.

I caught a glimpse of brown and Hestia appeared. I bent down slowly and grabbed some leaves and extended them to her. She came closer and took the leaves out of my hand.

I smiled and pet her. Yes, I named a deer after a goddess. "Real weird, Luke, real weird." I rolled my eyes.

"Shut up, Luke. You're so dumb." I retorted. Hestia looked at me with her brown eyes and licked her nose.

"Why do the gods hate me, hm?" Hestia looked at me and blinked. "You can't even understand me."

"Of course she can't understand you, she's a deer, Luke." I continued to talk and pet Hestia until she turned away and ran off.

I sigh. "I really have gone crazy." The sun is low in the sky and I weigh my options. Stay here and get bug bitten or having to be around Ashton.

"I'll pick the bugs." I looked around and grabbed some fallen palm leaves. I weaved them together and created a sleeping mat.

I speared a goose and weaved the down as a into the mat like pillow. I burned the goose as another offering and prayed and prayed.

I used the dirt to smother the fire hoping Ashton didn't see the smoke. I lie down on my mat and brace myself for a terrible dream.

Agathe and I were kissing passionately. My tongue roamed around her mouth and her hands were threaded into my hair.

Her mouth molded perfectly with mine. She broke away from the kiss. We were both breathless. "I love you, Luke."

I smiled and kissed her again. I pulled back but when I opened my eyes another face was there. It was Jason.

I jumped back but my feet were unable to move. The ground turned into quicksand. I struggled to get free but the sand swallowed me up faster.

I look up and see Odysseus. I struggled harder. "Luke," I closed my eyes and tried to get out. "Luke." I covered my ears and tried to get out.

The sand was up to my chest now. The sand was pressing against my chest and it was getting harder to breathe. My hands were tugged away from my ears and I looked up.

Ashton stood above me smirking. I struggled and struggled but nothing worked. Two pair of hands gripped my underarms and pulled me out.

He smirked and kissed me. His mouth felt soft on my lips. Ashton ran his tongue over my bottom lip and he pushed it into my mouth.

His tongue was soft against mine. The kiss got deeper as he tilted his head to the side. Our teeth and tongues clashed together.

Ashton tugged at my hair making me moan. "Lu-"

I jolted awake breathless. I touched my lips and shook my head tugging at my roots. It was still dark. Orion was high in the sky.

I was wide awake so I got up. I walked awhile until I reached the opposite shore of the island. The water glittered and the gentle lapping sounds calmed me.

I took off my clothes and waded out into the water. I held my breath and went under. I opened my eyes and small silver fishes swam around me. They shone like silver.

I break the surface and take a deep breath. I swam hard to the boundary and sigh. I touch the spell and feel a tug of resistance.

I pushed against it and it felt like a wall was pushing back. I tread water and lash out at the stupid border keeping me trapped.

I hit it again and again until my hand felt bruised. Salty tears mixed with the ocean water. Why can't I just die? Why did my dad have to be an idiot?

I kicked the wall multiple times before I decided to turn back. The sky was turning a gross gray and bruised pink purple color.

I collapsed on the beach and my chest was rising and falling with effort. My eyes felt heavy with salt and exhaustion. My eyes shut and I fell into a dreamless sleep.
