This sucks. Can you believe that they're actually making me do work? I mean Charlotte is bound to be valedictorian and she won't even do my part of my project for me, I mean I even offered to pay her!
Charlotte or as I like to call her, Lottie because I'm just too lazy to say her whole name, is working on getting the information we need. We decided to do our project on the very first leader of our Sector. Pretty smart huh? It was my idea too! Kadin is working on getting the information into categories, and I'm working on the placement of information on our Holoboard along with the design.
So far we've been getting along fine. A few, okay maybe a lot, of arguments here and there but so far everyone's still alive and healthy! Apparently Kadin is a little too "emo" for Lottie and when she told him that, I swear he almost threw something. Charlotte didn't like it either though when Kadin said she dressed to preppy and happy for anyone who is living in this day and age. I kind of had to agree with him. Kadin ended up getting assaulted by a pillow and got a very long speech about how easy it is to be happy in this "day and age". Yeah, they're weird.
As we worked on our project, something besides the information started coming up in our conversations. We all talked about how we wanted each and every leader to feel all the pain and suffering they've caused us because of the rules. We talked about what we do if we were free and independent6, we were never serious though.
I walked up the steps to Kadin's house with Lottie following right behind me. I knocked on the door and was faced with a distraught Mrs. Black. She ushered me and Lottie inside quickly and then started pacing.
"What's the matter Mrs. Black?" Lottie asks her, her voice full of concern and curiosity.
"Your parents haven't told you yet?" She asks us running a hand through her hair.
"Told us what?" I question her.
"Sector four has had a rebellion. A group of around 20 teenagers went and tried to over throw their Leader. So far only 10 have been killed or seriously injured. They've called in all troops immediately to help keep the situation under control but it seems that more and more people are coming to help the rebellion. Kadin's father had to leave this morning and now Kadin won't talk to anyone or eat anything. I'm worried sick about both of them." She ranted.
"Don't worry Mrs. Black, we'll take care of Kadin and I'm sure your husband will fine. He knows how to take care of himself." I tell her before heading up stairs to Kadin's room, dragging Lottie behind me.
"Kadin?" Lottie asks softly knocking on his door.
"Oh please, since when has a melodramatic teenage boy ever answered to that?" I scoff before pounding on the door and yelling at Kadin to get his ass up and open the damn door.
"You're giving me a headache, what do you want?" he grumbled as he opened the door to show his messed up hair and delicious six pack. Wait, did I really just say that? Someone, please, gag me with a spoon!
"We're here to work on the project silly." Lottie chirped from beside me. God, she was so small and quiet that sometimes you just forget she's there at all.
Kaiden looked down at her, frowned, and then groaned. "We're still doing that?"
"Yes we're still doing that and I plan on getting this done on time." I say sternly as I march into his room and plopping myself down his bed. 'Damn, this is a nice bed.' I thought to myself as I continued to feel his bed.
"Scarlet?" Kadin asks.
"Hmm, what?" I ask, realizing that he was talking to me.
"Are feeling up my bed, princess?" he smirks.
"W-what? No!" I say defensively, a blush coming to my cheeks. I push it down and get up off his bed.
"Sure." he says with a lop-sided grin.
"Can we just start on this project." Charlotte asks, her green eyes staring up at us, "I'm really hungry and the faster we finish the faster we can eat."
At that, both mine and Kadin's stomach growled at the exact same time. Here comes that blush again.
