My hair was stuffed in a loose side braid, and I had somehow managed to shimmy out of ny window, a few bucks in my pocket. I needed starbucks. Bad. That place was my safe haven. I shuffled along the block, ignoring the darkness that surronded me. I could see the dimly lit starbucks sign ahead when I heard the fight in the alley next to me. My hand flew to my throat, and I sneakily tried to turn away, not wanting to draw attention to myself. That was, until I saw who was fighting.

"Ashton!" I screamed.

I don't know what made me help him, considering he'd been nothing but trouble for me. And, he was winning. He sat on the other mans chest, throwing punch after punch, even though the man was already uncounsious. I tugged at his shoulders, pulling him off the man.

"Brie.. Sorry you had to see that." He huffed, his ciggarette falling out of his lips. "Let's go, I'll buy you a coffee."

I stayed still. "How did you know I wanted a coffee?"

He pointed down the street, a smile on his face. "Starbucks is the only store down here."

Of course. My cheeks blazed. "Um..ok."
