Chapter 2 - I LOVE FRED WEASLEY!
So it's been two years since that AWESOME day in Diagon Alley. Not much has happened, George, Fred, and I are practically inseperable, George has a crush on Angelina Johnson, and we're all on the Quidditch team for Gryffindor. Oh yeah! We're all in Gryffindor, which I'm happy for because it means more time with Fred. Although, he doesn't seem to like me that way. Sigh...anyways, my great uncle, Albus Dumbledore, is headmaster, which is great. We made a tradition to ride in the same cabin on the Hogwarts Express together every year, and I go to The Burrow (the Weasley's home) for a week every summer. This is Ron's first year at Hogwarts, and the Twins have been teasing him alot. I also hate Argus Filch, the caretaker at Hogwarts. He's really dumb...so me and the Twins pull pranks on him alot. I have girl friends too, like Katie Bell and Angelina Johnson.
"Here we go! Everyone through the platform!" Molly yelled. "Percy, you first." Percy went through the barrier, no big deal. "Fred, you next," she said, pointing at Fred. "Mum, I'm GEORGE, how many times do I have to tell you that?" he said, obviously joking around. I giggled. "Oh I'm sorry dear!" She apologized. "Mrs Weasley, he's joking." I said, holding my sides from laughter. "Oh...Fred you horrible boy!" "Aw c'mon Rosie, we could've gotten her!" Fred whined, giving me a joking hug. I love Fred's hugs. He went through the barrier, then George. The whole time an odd boy with dark hair and green eyes was observing us. "Excuse me, ma'am," the strange boy finally said. "How do you..." "Oh, my dear boy! This is your first year, is it? Why yes, it's Ronnie's first year too! Rosie, why don't you show this young boy how to do it? Oh yes, just run at a steady pace, it isn't that big a deal..." That was the last words I heard Mrs Weasley saying before I went through the barrier.
Fred, being the jokester that he is, placed himself so that as soon as I went through the barrier, I'd kiss him on the cheek. I rammed my trolley on his foot. "So uncalled for Fred, SO uncalled for." I yelled. I actually thought it was cute. "C'mon Rosie, you know you liked it." I stood in complete shock. Did he know? Did Mum tell him? I stood, not saying anything for several seconds, until he picked me up, swung me around and said, "Just kidding Rosie! Jeez, you're acting quite odd today." Oh thank goodness! By this time, our Mum's had ran through the barrier, as did Ron, Ginny, and this strange boy. "Mum, why can't I go?" Ginny whined. "I've already told you Ginny, you're too young!" "It's okay Ginny, we'll send you a toilet seat!" said Fred. "You will do no such thing!" Molly scolded them. The clock rang. "Oh my, you need to get on the train!" My Mum shouted. "Go, go!" she said, giving me a quick kiss and ushering me off toward the train. "Fred, hold her hand so she doesn't get lost please!" I sent my mom a quick wink then grabbed on to Fred's hand. "C'mon Rosie, you look tired. You can sleep on the train." He told me.
I got on the train, then sat with Fred, across from George, who was beside Angelina Johnson. As we pulled out of King's Cross, I waved vigorously to my mother, Molly, and Ginny, who were waving their arms right back. "So, y'know that boy who was asking Mum how to get through?" George asked me and Fred. We nodded. "Well, guess who he is? Harry Potter!" We gaped at him. The Boy Who Lived, at OUR school? "And he's made really good friends with Ron, too," he added. As I laid my hea down on Fred's lap to fall asleep, Angelina commented, "You two would be adorable together." I just looked up at George and blushed. He knew all about my crush on Fred, and promised not to tell a soul. Then I heard Fred say, "I dunno, I think she may be too pretty for me." George simply looked at me with an "Ohmygod-you-may-have-a-chance" look. The last thing I felt before I fell asleep was Fred, kissing me on the forehead.
"Firs' years! Firs' years o'er here!" I heard Hagrid calling. All the sudden I feel someone gently shaking me whispering "Rosie...time to get up princess...c'mon Rosie." I look up to see Fred smiling at me. "You slept the whole way here! Thank goodness you don't snore, or else I woulda woke you up right then and there." I laughed, and Fred helped me up. Apparently George and Angelina had already left. As we got off the train, Fred STILL holding my hand, I saw Ron, Harry, and some other little bushy haired girl leaving together to get onto the boats. I skipped toward the carriages, when Fred let go of my hand, hopped up onto a carriage and said, "Will you ride with me, Madam?" "Oh, of course dear sir," I said laughing. I took his hand again and hopped into the carriage.
I sat inbetween Fred and Katie Bell at the Feast. The sorting was intresting. This odd looking little boy named Draco Malfoy was put into Slytherin before the hat was even fully on his head. When Granger, Hermione was called, the little bushy haired girl stood up and started freaking out. She was put into Gryffindor. She seemed pretty cool. When Potter, Harry was called, the room went silent. You could see Harry whispering, "Not Slytherin, NOT Slytherin!" So the Hat shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!" We all cheered. Last was Weasley, Ronald. The Hat said, "Oh my, another Weasley, I know what to do with you. GRYFFINDOR!" We all cheered again.
The Twins, of course, stuffed themselves so full of food that Angelina, Katie, and I had to practically drag them upstairs. "Password?" The Fat Lady asked. "Caput Draconis," Percy said. The portrait swung open and I was gladly welcomed back to the Gryffindor Common Room. I sat beside Fred on the couch. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I think I ate too much Rosie." George said the same thing, only he screamed it. "You should go to sleep, Freddie," thinking of the nickname only me, George, and Molly use. "Okay." He kissed me on the forehead, gave me a hug, then went up to the boys' dormitories. George did the same, but whispered so that Fred couldn't hear, "I think he really likes you, Rosie. I really do." I smiled, kissed him on the cheek, then he went up to the dormitories.
A couple of days later, we had Quidditch practice. Fred and George are Beaters, and I'm a Chaser. Oliver Wood was teaching us a new way to throw the Quaffle, but I was staring at Fred the whole time. "...and then just flick your wrist and it's in. Any questions? Rose, have you even been paying attention?" Katie shook me out of my trance. "Um, yeah." "So would you please tell us what to do when the Bludger is coming toward you and you're stuck between dropping the Quaffle or being knocked off your broom?" "Uh, wait for Fred and George to save the day?" Everyone laughed at that. Fred winked at me, then handed me a note. I read it, and Oliver said "Oh, well sorry, I guess you were paying attention." I smiled at Fred. He smiled back and blew me a kiss. I am SO lovestruck.
At dinner, the Twins were nowhere to be seen. A first year handed me a note. It said, Meet me and Georgie in the front corridor after you're done eating. Love, Fred. I rushed to finish, then ran to the corridor. They were both smiling like they had done something wrong. "What did you do?" I glared. "Well, we didn't want you to eat anything, because in about two minutes, 20 Dungbombs will go off the Slytherin table. So if you have an upset stomach, we should go up to the Common Room." George said. I rolled my eyes. "Let's go," I drawled. They both held my hands on the way up. Then, we sat down laughing our heads off.
Ron, Harry, and Hermione ran up the stairs, smelling horrible. "DID YOU DO THAT?!" Ron shouted at the Twins. "Yup, did you like it?" Fred winked. "Snape is SO mad! He says if the people who did it don't fess up, the whole SCHOOL will be punished!" Hermione squeaked. Well, I think I should go down there and fess up. I don't want the Twins to get in trouble! I got up, but Fred pulled me back down. "Where do you think YOU'RE going?" "To fess up, of course. I wasn't there, so he'll believe it, and I don't want you two to get in trouble!" "No. No no no no no!" George said. "Yeah, I agree with Georgie. You shouldn't be punished for what WE did!" Fred added. "George, you go down and tell Snape. I'll stay here and make sure the lovely Rosie doesn't escape." "Okay mate. I'll be back soon...maybe."
One hour...two hours...George never came back. I was lying down on Fred's lap and he started to play with my dark brown hair. I snuggled closer in to his stomach. "You have really pretty hair, Rose," Fred suddenly said. "Well thanks. You're hair is pretty extraordinary too," I giggled. George finally rushed through the hole. "FRED. SNAPE...WANTS...SEE...YOU...DON'T GO...SCARY..." he passed out on the ground. I jumped up, forgetting Fred was playing with my hair. I yelped in pain, and Fred jumped up and kissed my head better. "Freddie, bring him up to the dormitories," I told him. "Okay," he said. He went to go kiss my cheek, but I also went to go kiss his, so we ended up kissing...ON THE LIPS! "Oops, sorry 'bout that." I blushed. "No problem...it was an accident." He picked up George, kissed the top of my head, hugged me, then went up to bed. I did the same 5 minutes later.
