Chapter 5 - Home For The Holidays

The rest of the school year went by without any problems, except that Harry, Ron, and Hermione found the Philosophers Stone, and that You-Know-Who was possessing him. "ROSE! You HAVE to write," Hermione was wailing, this WAS the first time we had been apart, and she WAS one of my best friends. "'Mione, it has come to my attention that you've forgotten that we're both going to the Burrow for the last 4 days of our break," I giggled. "Oh yeah, I forgot," she blushed. "Anyways, I will write," I smiled, my hair turning a certain shade of turquoise. "Okay, now you must go say bye to Fred," she winked. I laughed. "Of course, I can't forget about my dear Freddie boy." I turned and left to find Fred. I bumped into him accidentally, thinking it was Ron. "Oh! Hey Rosie," he said, kind of nervously. "Hey Freddie boy," I laughed. "Funny seeing you here." "Oh yeah, definitely weird," he winked. "So, I guess this is goodbye...for now," I said awkwardly. "Okay, bye Rosie," he said, and kissed me on the cheek. "I love you Freddie," I whispered. "I love you too, Rosie," he whispered in my ear. I didn't realize he could hear me. Oops. I turned around and kissed him full on the lips. He smiled. "I'll see you in a week," I winked, then left with my parents.

"So, you and Fred are getting really close," my mother commented, with a hint of a smile in her voice. "Yeah, I suppose," I laughed. "So, am I going to have to give him the 'Talk', Rosie Girl?" my dad said. "Please don't Daddy!" I complained. "He wouldn't dare, not with me around," my mom said. "Oh believe me, I would," my dad winked. We found the Portkey to take us home that my father had placed. "Oh dear, you won't believe Lily! She gotten so big," my mother said with tears in her eyes. My dad placed a hand around her and said, "It's okay, Ariana. She's safe now." "I know, but she was gone for so long. I'll never be able to thank my father enough." We grabbed the half-opened bag of Cheesies, and in 10 seconds flat we were at my front door. "Are you ready to see your sister?" my mother asked. "As ready as I'll ever be," I replied. "Okay then...OH! I forgot my keys. No matter. Alohamora," my mother said.

I walked into the house. It was different then it used to be. Some of the pictures of me we had hanging on our wall were replaced with ones of Lily, so it was equal. I ran to my room immediately. I didn't want to see her right away. I had to get my emotions under control. My trunk had already been placed along my bedside. They had painted my room crimson and gold, and all of my posters had been reposted on the other side of my room. My four-post was in off to the side of room, just the way I liked it. I could see my bathroom had been painted gold, with red, the opposite of my bedroom. My mirror was on the other side of the room. I collasped on my bed, and started to cry. No reason, I suppose I was getting it all out for when I saw Lily. I only cried for about 30 seconds, went to my bathroom, made sure it didn't look like I had been crying (it hadn't), sat on my bed, and pulled out Hogwarts: A History, to read. Someone knocked on my door. "Rosie-pie?" Only one person called me that. "Lily-pie?" I replied cautiously. "Mommy says supper will be ready in a half hour. May I come in?" I contemplated that for about 2 seconds, until I said, "Sure Lily." with my voice cracking at the end. She slowly opened the door. She was adorable. She looked different, but still adorable. She ran and hugged me. "I missed you Rosie-pie," she sobbed. "I missed you too, Lily-pie."

A couple days had passed, nothing very eventful happened. Then it was finally time for us to go to the Burrow. We brought a tent (more for my parents and Lily, I was sharing a room with Ginny). "Do you both have all of your things?" my mother asked us. "Of course Mummy," Lily said. "And if we don't, we can just Summon them," I added. "Good point," she laughed. "Mount your broomsticks!" my father called. Oh yeah, I taught Lily how to ride a broomstick. "One, two, three, GO!" I yelled, and we were off. My father and I lead the way, because we knew best where the Burrow was. "Down there!" I pointed and yelled at my dad. "Down we go!" he called. I aimed my broom slightly at the ground, and kicked out. My broom lurched forward, sending me spiraling toward the ground. I pulled up right before I hit the ground. Lily, on the other hand, didn't pull up early enough, and fumbled on the ground. "LILY!" I screamed. She sat straight up, and didn't say anything. Her eyes were wide open. I started pressing on her arms and legs, looking for broken bones. And then, she began to laugh. "WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?!" I shrieked. "Because I'm not injured, silly," she yelled. "Oh," I said sheepishly.
